But would the shops usually give the filters if we buy the lenses? Because they don't come cheap. How much does a lens hood usually cost?

not sure how much they go for. but i know the canon one for the kit lens looks like a cup or bowl or something. lol i prefer the petal kind.

Update mine the day I bought it.

I'm using the 450D basic kit at the moment. I think anything Canon is expensive. >.<

No point getting a hood for the kit lens; it's not very effective.

not dat worth the $$$ to buy the hood for ur 18-55 IS...

anyway, it up to indivdual de...

btw, Canon 50 mm F1.8 lens quite a gd catch if u haven't get it..

a gd n cheap prime lens...

as for lens hood...wat lens u holding? Canon lens hood quite exp...

u mean not worth it to get original hood ah? haha i'm waiting for CP to call me when they get the original EW-83J for my 17-55 leh... coz the guy there told me for this lens recommended not to use 3rd party :S

If u buy 3rd party he where got earn.... I also use chiong EW-83J on my 24-105. U know it is me when u see one anime char on my lens hood :3
