Everyone...the challenge thread and topic is up. Come take a look here for the guidelines.
Sounds fun!
lol yeah there's a branch at MS... i always go there to get my stuffs.. not too bad service.. can look for Jeff.. quite a nice guy

although some of the peeps here have bad experience there.. but i think since u're a girl.. everywhere will be fine la.. haha just be careful of the prices

Cool.. i'll prob head down to MS branch this weekend. :P

what's your budget? cos getting the manfrotto from amazon I estimate would cost around S$180 (its US$95x1.53 + shipping say S$30) - the manfrotto does not have a detachable head which means you cannot upgrade the head attachment to say a hydrostatic ballhead (basically you're stuck with what it comes with). Also the max load capacity is a low 2.5kg which means you can't have too many accessories such as external flash unit or use heavy lens (eg 70-200)

i believe you have read the yong nuo review so i wldn't go into that. if it's between these 2 i'd say yong nuo cos it's cheaper & it has a higher max load. but if u have deep pockets (say $200 or more) you can get a much better tripod. i'd advice you to look around more - read more reviews, personally handle the tripods @ the various shops. i myself am still looking for a tripod but haven't decided yet.

hope this helps =)

thanks for pointing out the differences, I really appreciate it.

i am more inclined towards the yong nuo because like you said, it seems to have a better built and rather value for money.

wonder what other options are available?

Yupp, if you are on a tight budget, get a YongNuo or a Benro tripod. The Manfrotto one you mentioned is more useful for Camcorders or Digicams.

If you really want a Manfrotto, you need to fork up alot of money. I recently bought a Manfrotto tripod and Manfrotto head. Cost me close to $300. Feels really solid and lasting.

Down side, is there is no bag provided for Manfrotto tripods. The tripods come with lifetime warranty and the head comes with a 5 year warranty. All well greased and no maintainence needed.

if you are willing to invest in manfrotto i'd suggest you get the 190Xprob ~ $180 (without head) + 056 3-way head (similar to the 718B you were looking at) = around $220 pretty good investment cos the tripod itself can last darn long if u treat it good

here's some links to help you look

Saw the PHOTTIX MO thread, was wondering which remote control to get? Wired or wireless? Wireless looks cool. Or should i get a original canon remote?

GMAN

i'd say wireless and no not canon original cos it's just not worth the money

Gman: get the phottix cleon one lar, which is the 46 dollars one. the original one too ex, not very worth it i would say. but it's up to u in the end. suggest that u save that difference of a hundred and 50 for rainy days. i thought the 46 bucks one can act as wired and wireless?

if i'm not wrong the wireless is a set which can be used as wired...not sure how this works though

Yeah, it works both ways. I'm going to pre-order that. Depends if they have my model.

Yes they have. Wireless very useful indeed...go orchard, set up tripod and take a seat somewhere near. OTOT until happie.

thanks thanks. I'll probably go down by myself. Being a ger, scared a bit lah. later kenna intimidated by them.

btw, there's a branch at MS as well right? I supposed they should sell the cams at the same price?

I suggest you get an e-quote so that everything is black and white so that both branches can offer the same price to you.

Dear All 450d bro,

Just to check with ur all, did anyone update on the 450d firmware??
Do it necessary for the updating?
& lastly will it be harmful to the camare setting if any thing went wrong during updating by newbies like me??

Thanks
