hello people, i've been looking at the thread but without posting as i do not own a dslr then. but now i finally got my 450d yesterday. nice forum you guys had here. 
i was wondering what sorts of accessories should i get, in mind are tripod, dry cab, cleaning kit and as for battery grip i'll intend to get it later. will this do for now???

evo park in botanical gardens. its near the Nparks HQ. actually there isnt much things to shoot there...happen to park right inside and it was kind of late so didnt have much of a choice...
btw if you have any criticisms please let me know, i welcome harsh and honest criticisms and will not take offense. i personally feel this is the best way to learn and improve. in fact i'd prefer criticisms rather than praise! (not that i dislike praise...)

i think it depends on what you are shooting. but the most basic would be a cleaning kit and a dry box/cabinet. other accessories are optional and are dependent on what you want to shoot.
personally i don't take pics indoors so a flash is low on my priority list. however a tripod would be useful in my case since i am learning how to do macro and night shoots. a battery grip isnt really useful for me coz i dun really finish my one battery worth of power for my shoots. of course if you are rich enough then u can buy everything...;p

I would get the dry cab and cleaning kit first. The rest will, like ProteinLens has said, depend on what you're shooting. Anyway congrats on the 450D! :thumbsup:

All i have is a benro so i can't really say much, but i assume you'd be looking for something really light for travel. Might wanna give manfrotto carbon fiber tripods a look. On a side note, I wouldnt be :bheart: if anything happened to my Benro

not sure about old buildings but there were quite a number of fountains at the entrance near the Nparks HQ. the evolution park itself is in an enclosed area, and it has a trail that is supposed to arrange the flora in chronological order (from beginning of earth to now). apart from the frogs i couldn't find anything else to shoot tho.

well i am thinking of getting a SLIK SPRINT pro. it is light and its ard $100, yet sturdy enough to support my 450D (for now). good for travelling imho.

I too considered Slik, but went for the Benro A-300EX. Which you can get from the mass sales
Think Slik should be cheaper

some1 sellin at $800 for a 4mth lens...
17-55 kinda exp...
and i might be gettin a 5D in the near future...

17 - 40 is a gd buy, my first L. but i find 800 abit too steep for a 2nd hand one. i bought it at 1040 first hand. Price might have dropped already, Might wanna go check out the shops. :thumbsup: BBB :devil:
