Same... I love mine too.. It's my "go-to" lens... taken many good shots with that lens.. FYI, I had already replaced the SWM twice... If fact, after 2 years of use, I can hear the screw turning sound... As such, I don't think it's due to old age..

For those out there who are contemplating on getting the D800/E, do read Thom Hogan's writeup. Very true, imo, especially, his view that the D800 is a demanding camera. Not for the faith-hearted :) (i.e. less-skilled)
