For this USB connetor, there are 2 "through" hole pins (indicated by green arrows)
These 2 pins goes through 2 corresponding holes in the PCB and soldered for added support

I don't mind paying, doing extra labour or kneel at your doorstep for a few hours for secret manual.

Oh! that manual in the picture is for a different camera.
I just use it to put the camera on to get better contrast.

the photography industry is based heavily upon the reputation (of good skill, service, presentation, etc) of the photographer. dunno why anyone would willfully tarnish their own reputation in exchange for a quick buck. maybe this character isnt really a true photographer at heart.... :dunno:

Im sorry for the delay in this reply as I seldom come online here. Was only notified by a friend.

Regarding the camera sale;

At the point of sale, I did mention to Paul that in any case that the camera is faulty within 2 weeks, I would send the camera in for repair and bear all the costs. At first as you can tell from my sale thread, i was asking for around 2.8k for the camera, however after talking to Paul, he voiced out his concern over the 3rd party battery and also the peripherals that came with the camera. Therefore I felt it was fair to compensate him for all this and further reduced the price by 300SGD. Also before the sale I did offer to also give him a domke bag foc for all this troubles.

Things worsened when there was a day i did not pick up my phone and in all honesty forgot about calling him as i was asleep for the day. However upon him calling me after the facebook incident i immediately answered and apologized. We met at my current roadshow place as he wanted to meet me face to face to ensure that i will give him the bag. So we met and agreed to meet the next day.

The next morning he called and told me the USB port of the camera is not working. So I offered to pay for the repairs at CSC if he still wanted the camera, if not i will give him a full refund. That very day i realised that the money has been used (story will continue on Cedric's side). So I called him on that night and was thankful that he understood my situation, giving me the option of paying him 500SGD first and he will consider giving the repairs a try. Immediately after conversing with him asking for his account number i waited at the atm for his account and transferred the said 500 to his account. He told me CSC will call him in a few days and i also told him when my pay will be in so i can pay him the full 2k. As i am new to my job i did not remember when my pay will be in and generically i thought it will be on the first or second day. Few days later he called me and told me that CSC quoted him 795 for the repairs and said that he wanted a refund. So i told him ok and will let him know once my pay is in.

At that point of time i was at my office and the nature of my job requires me to run around the island. When i arrived at my roadshow i realised that i forgot to bring my phone along. So upon reaching home I dropped him a facebook message, around 12plus and i reached home around 11plus 12, after washing up and doing laundry etc. he called my mother and told me he was outside. So i went downstairs and explained my situation to him. To him i may come across as angry or what not, but i wasn't, whether you want to believe it or not. So on that day i drafted a IOU with him and stated to return him the money on the 7th of July 2010 by 1800hrs though either cash or bank transfer and we shook on it. That was Friday night.

This is the story told without my input whatsoever, just a detailed breakdown of the timeline regarding the sale of the camera, putting aside anything else.

In fairness to myself, if i had originally wanted to run away from him, there will not be any sense for me to not take his call after the first day he tried to call me. And that was over a domke bag that i offered to give him. If i wanted to run, I wouldn't have transferred him the 500 dollars if i wanted to make a quick buck. This was all before I read all this clubsnap messages. Besides the first time not answering his calls, all subsequent calls that i missed i called back once i could.

Paul, if you are reading this, on paper its supposed to be 7th of July, not 17th. And honestly today i was not threatening to sue you. Im just saying you could be. I am now finding ways to pay you, definitely by the stipulated time & date, if not earlier. Now for Cedric's side...

Regarding PointBlankShot and the studio business;

I met Cedric last year when his pal hendra brought me along with him for a magazine shoot as i told hendra i wanted to learn. When i met him he was a very nice guy, teaching me the ropes and all. At that point of time i was working in a Baby Studio being a photographer. I mentioned to Hendra that i wanted to venture out on my own, to have my own studio but also at the same time not having the proper skills and knowledge in handling all the technical know-hows and the process of running a business. Therefore I suggested the 3 of us start a studio.

Cedric was very keen at the idea, and immediately we started planning for it. Every business venture needed capital, and photography business is not a cheap venture. Therefore i approached my mother to be a investment partner. We also decided that each of us should at least come out with a 10% share which equate to each person giving 8-10k for the business. Hendra did it willingly, forking out the necessary 8k for the purchase of a van that Cedric wanted. Cedric said he does not have money at the moment, so he cannot fork out the 10% and said he would pay for the van installment. So it was left to me and my mother to purchase the equipment and rent the place.

In the beginning he told us not to worry, a studio like that will definitely breakeven, if not make money. Being a noob in this photography line and my first business, i listened to everything cedric said, sometimes arguing with my mother over differences in opinion. I opened ShanStudio under my name, as cedric said he cant open a company as he is scared because he previously had 2 companies but both failed and apparently he has bad credit. Hendra also didnt want to use his name. So all legal contracts were signed by me.

We had to rush the opening of the studio as cedric had a job coming in so we rushed through all the paperwork and renovations. many times i have asked him for a contract to put this partnership in black and white but he told me he will take care of it. Once the studio is up there was no turning back. We bought the equipments and doing up the website and all the other stuffs needed. The website, for those who actually had the opportunity to view it, had cedric and hendra phone number listed under their name. The contact us had mine as at that point of time we agreed that I was supposed to be the studio manager and putting 3 numbers was not necessary.

The first few months was a shaky one as Cedric had shoots and I had to manage the paperwork of the studio and assist Cedric from time to time, including helping hendra. we barely made it for the first few months and cedric said that each of us had to throw in 1.7k a month in order to float, be it from jobs or our own pocket. but each month we fell short of rent. so i had to find means and ways to pay up while Cedric and hendra still did not fork out the necessary sum of money to pay rent. Photography money can be very slow at times, as you know. Also being business partners we are all responsible for the studio.

Cut the story short. when my mother realised that we are making a very big loss, she stepped in to govern the whole studio as it was money at stake. Cedric was unhappy, as he said that she does not know how to do business and she makes him very "pek chek" because of her old fashioned ways. Upon realizing that the studio is failing, we had a meeting, the 4 of us. Cedric at that time said that he no longer wanted to be a partner, at the most he would be an associate. When the issue of outstanding rent came up again, he said he had no money and asked my mother to take out her "coffin money" (mandrain) to pay the rent first. When my mother said that she did not have anymore money, he asked my mother to close down the studio. When my mother asked him about her money, he said to my mother to take over this unit and rent out, still would be able to recoup a few thousand dollars. (at this point of time we have lost over 80plus going 90 thousand dollars, all but some coming out of my mother's pocket, the rest being me). We had a vote and me, hendra and my mother decided to push on as there were a few more projects that we may have the chance of getting and paying off some debts.

However after a month or more we decided this venture is going on a crash course so we wound up, at the same time the landlord foreclosed on our unit due to unpaid rent. Again its on paper that i am the sole owner therefore i had to settle all the outstanding matters. After the foreclosure, I was told by cedric and hendra that the van too has been repossessed. So they insisted that i met them to sign a contract that they are allowed to claim the van back. I was hesitant as there is still the matter of the company's closure and also the settling of the monetary matters.

When we met, straight away they took out the form and told me to sign it. Accompanied by the form was another contract that states i will relinquish the van to them. We talked about the closure of the company and they were very nice about it, telling me that they will pay up what they can when they can, but the thing is they dont want to put it on paper. However I wanted to put this meeting in minutes so that there is still proof. Cedric agreed and said he will handle it. So i said we will meet in a week to settle this and he agreed along with hendra. one week passed and i told him i could meet, but he said that he was busy with a job, so i said ok let me know when you can. 4 days later i asked him about meeting, again he had family problems and cant meet for a week. I said sure no problem and said i have draft my own copy, if he is interested just to meet up he read, if its ok we sign and we shall see. No word again. In total my mother used up all her life savings on this venture.

I have not included many things in this post as there is alot more that he have done. He should know. But then again, maybe from this post I might get more flak.

Now i have only started my new job with no cash, have yet to get my pay. thats why i requested to pay Paul on my payday. Cedric mentioned that i am driving a lancer. Fyi, I am unable to pay for the roadtax and insurance and loans. All in all, my family is the one that is most affected by this and he is the one sitting pretty in his rented private apartment, shiny mazda 3 with modifications and ICE, not having to worry about day to day living. He was always very nice to us, saying he understand our situation and such. Now that the Company is in the ****, he is so busy. His pal Hendra is also a classic example. Jobs done for him, never paid on time. He has owed me and my friends our pay from jobs that was done almost a year ago. When we chase him for money, he dont pick up his calls.

Now that I have said my story. I will leave it here and probably not reply anymore. If honestly you have any doubts or questions or the full story regarding the allegations against me by cedric, my number has been posted for the whole world to see. Give me a call, ill be glad to chat.

When I came in asking where's your profit, "I where got say I can earn 7-8k?" This is our downfall because your mum, Hendra and I trusted you as an adult where you say these things.. and that's a major decision for yourself to close it down because you bullshit too much... You mother and yourself are adults, Hendra and I wouldn't be able to force your mother and you to open a studio if you don't want one... Noob as in stupid? You knew what you need from hendra and me... The jobs, the contacts, which you "had".

2. Me? Bad credit? Those are excuses because my 6th sense said I couldn't trust you when I first met you.. So Hendra had a bad credit too? Both of us could't trust you even at the start, so there's no way we get into a business partnership with you, considering the fact you need us more than we need you.. The investment surely came from you.

3. Hendra and I did take care of the studio as much as we could. If not for your mum, we would have left right after 3 months... You never made those money you claimed, you dragged all our foot in...

4. You didn't mentioned I'm footing the installments every month since the start ah? I'm are paying for the van right now, and the amount is 5k plus I've paid in till date... Balance of 3k plus to go, and I'm paying every cent of it... Do you want me to show you the black and white you sign? The financial investment of a van came from me and Hendra, never you... All you needed to do was to bring in the 7-8k 3 person heard you saying... Cedric wanted the van, do I remind you that you were driving the van home for personal usage, sometimes even your mum, and what? Ced wants the van? Ced wants the van for everybody's job, but didn't know it became a personal transport for you. It became so bad that I had to put a foot down and demanded that you leave the van in the studio even if there's no jobs... So van spoils, and what you do again, took "3 weeks" to repair, never repaired... Say wait for spare parts? All bullshit, we went to the same repair shop, and the spare parts came in a day... In that 3 weeks, the van is never seen in the studio, we secretly pop by your house a few occasions, and the van is not there as well... Driving the van for personal use? Go figure out where it went in that 3 weeks... Hendra and I took 1 day and, mind you, Hendra and I paid 400 plus to get it to shape again... Let this be known that it's not broken down as in cannot move.. Can move but just got worst.... because the van is not in studio, I'll assume you drove on and left the repair bill dented in Hendra and my pocket...

5. You wanted to learn I teach, you wanna know how to run a studio, I teach, you wanted to do the jobs, I gave. Because of helping you pull through every f@*king month, I had to make lesser to give you a cut for assisting or shooting. I made lesser because I wanted to teach you how to shoot. Do I need to mentioned that in this process, you happily took every cent of the money Hendra or my jobs gave, not making the 7-8k you claimed, yet you never put those shooting fees or asst fees back? Even 10 bucks is good... Never? At that point Hendra and myself were not part of the business entity, otherwise we'll be screwed by you big time..

6. Did you tell them about the jobs you did, the screw ups? Images seldom deliver on time. Or always, " No what, I delivered already", and I come hurrying, call you, chase you like like I had my own kid... Hendra's job received complaints about delivery. Client called, late for an event job... Where were you? traffic jam, where you should have been early by an hour before the job.. Hendra and I never experienced a "traffic jam" for jobs before somehow... The video you said "No prob, no prob, I can do it" Where? After 3 weeks, I had to take the rushes back and do it myself. I feel sorry because I still bother to put on a fake smile when I collected the rushes from you.. You treated our jobs with the least dignity... You Justin is too rich to bother about these... You wanna learn? I already gave up teaching...

7. When the business is not making because of the 7-8k you claimed, Hendra even tried to pull in rental. He didn't get a cut out of the rental, and yet stayed in the studio to make those 50 bucks per hour.. Even I came back to keep him company... You? Busy as usual....

Do I remind you that he turned on the strobes modelling light as a "mood" light for his party? My lights are a source of mood light? Have I not stressed enough that he's running the studio's electricity bill and doesn't have to pay for it? Do I remind you that he comes back to studio and study??? with air con on? So, it's Justin photography business after all, and hendra and I can't intervene?

11. We never said we'll pay what can? It's your failed business investment, with your doings. We said we'll see how things go... I say again, the van isn't yours to pay? Hendra and I fork out every cent of the van, the same way you fork out for the camera and sold it for money, when you sold the camera, we didn't get a cent back. The van is still ours to pay, and you should be reliefed we took the van financial burden away from the sorry state you, if not already? We took the computer that cost nearly 3k to purchase, you were supposed to return us the money with a company's cheque, but sadly, got lightning, no thunder... SO, we had to absorb the computer we bought for the company. There's more things.. These 2 items alone... 14k... and we took it as our own....

12. Do I remind you that on the final month closure, that hendra and me took yet another 3.4k to top up paying for the rent.. Do you know we could have just walk out? We did it not for you, but your poor mum thinking you're some Diva level photographer?

14. I'm driving a car stays in a rented property and I earn every cent of it by myself without your help, without taking advantage of you or your clients. If not for lies, and your "potentials" "Eh Ced, I got jobs for you", or " I just quote this and that, sure get", I would be happily driving my SAAB Aero!!!!!!! I sold it because I had to keep myself going. I sold it because I don't want somebody else to pay my luxury items for me... In total comparisons, and no stark contrast, aren't you & family still live, a few days ago in the house that Paul and me saw in a owned landed property (your family owned), states a claim here you do not even have money for road tax etc etc, and here's what Paul and myself still saw... 1 WRX (dad's), 1 new impreza(brother's girlfriend), and your black lancer (yours?)... Funny huh? Unless Paul and my eyes are playing tricks. so no money for road tax etc etc, but car not there in the morning, there in the night??? I totally agree with you that your family is not involved in your dealing outside, and we should not get them involved.. What did I do, be a responsible adult? called you on the phone, never picked up on many occasions, finally must sms you about the job, then you come slightly cleaner than the usual self... What did I do further? Take those images from you, painstaking convert everything to tiff, and send it down to the client within 12 hours(comparing to the 5-6 days you had to do it), and apologizing on your behalf...

You did all these and you want Hendra and myself to be responsible? Justin, Hendra and myself offers a sincere "**** YOU"... Shame on you for even trying to explain this to your advantage... It's over dude, don't try getting financially responsible for the things you create. Don't try and win sympathy points here, look like the shady way you did with your camera sale, it goes to say a lot about you personally as a person... If not for me pointing out that the USB is long spoilt and the warranty is over, Paul would have bought the camera without knowing. This is the story told without my input whatsoever, just a detailed breakdown of the timeline regarding the sale of the camera, putting aside anything else.

In fairness to myself, if i had originally wanted to run away from him, there will not be any sense for me to not take his call after the first day he tried to call me. And that was over a domke bag that i offered to give him. If i wanted to run, I wouldn't have transferred him the 500 dollars if i wanted to make a quick buck. This was all before I read all this clubsnap messages. Besides the first time not answering his calls, all subsequent calls that i missed i called back once i could.

Paul, if you are reading this, on paper its supposed to be 7th of July, not 17th. And honestly today i was not threatening to sue you. Im just saying you could be. I am now finding ways to pay you, definitely by the stipulated time & date, if not earlier. Now for Cedric's side...

and you mean you choose to sell it knowing that the USB is down, without telling the potential buyer that the USB is down? You don't know that? or you don't know again??? You knew it? because when Hendra and I bought another body, we told you it's not tethering and told you to send it for servicing... Or course again, you can say no.... haiz... I had enough....

I'm the guy who told Paul that the USB is down.. Do you have a problem with that? Or do I support you in not letting Paul know about it, and when somebody stumbles on www.shanstudio.com, and then starts asking about your whereabouts?

You should have come out earlier. Many of us here know for a fact you have been reading this thread for a few days now.

You may have claimed a lot of mitigating reasons for your apparent behavior. But in the end, you tried to pass off a severely damaged (700+ repair bill is consider major for me) camera as condition 9. Why did you try to pass off the camera has having warranty, when it has none?

Even if you have no money to pay the refund, why did you not hand over the boxes and bag within the first few days of the sale? You told the TS you left it your "mother's", but it is clear now that you live with your mother. Could it be that the boxes will somehow show that the camera is no longer in warranty?

It is in the little things and the details, that show what kind of person you are. You can try to defend yourself, but these small discrepancies make you highly suspect that I hesitate to believe a single word you say.

Whatever the case, the issues between you and Cedric and Hendra can only be sorted out between you 3. But most clients, professionals and business people, who have any business sense, will know to stay clear from you given your track record, until you sort out all this mess.

Seriously speaking, I think you better stay away from Photography. It is just not 'you'.

Albeit an interesting read, I would suggest that all parties involved take this offline or for the mods to suspend this thread lest it is implicated in any possible legal disputes.

We have all learnt something here, business or technical wise. Now, keep your already dirty linen before it's gets dirtier.

Justin, you spin good stories but too many inconsistencies and loopholes.

1. You claim on your sales thread the camera has 4 months warranty left, but in actual fact there are none. How do you explain this?

2.You claim that you are unaware of this thread, and only reply after being inform by a friend. How is it that you can call the TS to close this thread even before the reply, presumably you being unaware?

3.I personally saw the shanstudio.com site yesterday morning before it was taken down. It was as Cedric as described, containing Cedric's and Hendra's profiles but only your contact number. If the biz has ceased and you no longer represent them, why leave it there for so long? Or the webmaster with the keyword suddenly came back to spore?:think:

4.you claim in several sites that you are a very experienced and talented, having started photography at the tender age of 12. In your reply, you described yourself as not having proper skills and knowledge, and wanting to learn the ropes from Cedric & Hendra. Isn't this two claims contradictory?
