nice head shot of the cricket. sharp and good dof. i was in Mandai around 1 pm. Love this place cos it is so compact and so full of insects.

I was there early morning, tot i can meet you.

Got my first crab spider today. Same setup with the dual flash system, plate diffuser and monopod support. I just fitted the raynox after getting the step up ring from FW on thursday as the 250 raynox cant fit the 49mm dia DFA100 lens. With the raynox, the lens does not need to fully extend to get 1:1 and good lighting was easily achievable at f-stop ard f14.

Crab Spider

Would prefer the sharpness to be on the foreground ie front two pairs both left and right legs but sharpness is diagonal across the frame. Lighting is nice. Just a personal opinion only...

one interesting pix taken today to share. a few more posted in macro forum as well.

dunno whether this one's a lizard, newt or salamander, appreciate if someone can help ID.

but i just crawled up right in front of me and stared at me for a few seconds before scurrying away :bsmilie: damn cute.

slightly cropped to improve composition.

Biking into Lower Pierce; and using K7 with kit lens 50-200mm WR; hand held. Trying to add the silhouette to the beautiful setting sun (rare times). Composition critique welcome. No pp; straight from camera.

I also think it's common sun skink, the one we shot at LPR.

wow, the eye ball is sharp!

well done!

thanks :) i was very lucky to catch this one actually... it came up to me and stared right at me ;p

i had abt 10 secs to tweak my settings and take the shot. i opted for bigger aperture so i can isolate its face... it was a risk... wrong focus and the shot would be gone

another golden words: more patience more reward! :bsmilie: don't worry, you got the technique already. just need a little more practice.

one for the night. caught at bukit batok nature park on the same day as the AMS.

the half body is due to framing and not cropping. this hopper is huge at 25mm in micro term.

swee! actually, i haven't caught the technique fully yet. i was comfortable last time with the pop-up flash but now getting used to my flash-gun... still not used to it yet.

i heard so many good things about your char kway teow plate diffuser that i'm determined to try it later today :bsmilie: since i'm taking my vivitar 105mm out for a test shoot also ;) it just arrived yesterday.
