Canon G1X !

Seems like the g1x flash is not very consistent . Some times too powerful. Some time too weak. Is it due to the metering mode I use? Evalutive? Place advice

The thing is I don't think the Canon pouch is going to be a very good one. I am guessing it will be like those pns type of pouches.

So I got myself a very nice small-mediumish sized manfrotto bag which has space for my spare battery and 320EX flash as well as my wallet and mobile.

Cos mine was the Canon's black-colored-'mini-cam-bag'-(able to put in a few filter/s and lenspen and my h/phone & tissue-pack & extra-SD & battery)..., where I was advised to collect it at Canon-Harbourfront-centre.....?!?!?!...(...just wondering why there's this variation of gift...is it diff shops....?!?!?!)

No. I did not get the pouch at all. They said will call me when they receive from canon.

Well, guess you might have to wait a little while since it's so new whereby most of its accessories not IN yet...(...I'm still waiting patiently:faint: for that filter-adapter - so as to be able to use a Cir-Pol &/or Close-Up.....Arrghhh:angry:...what's taking them soooo loooong huh:bsmilie:...!!!!!!):bsmilie:

i thought the bag is suppose to be the brown color soft leather one that they gave during IT fair. this black bag i thought they usually give for the XXXD series?

Well, me too and thought so until I redeemed at CSC then:bigeyes: realized this is the gift instead of the 'Leather-like'-good-fitting-G1X-case...:dunno:leh......but then on the second thoughts, may be the variation was cos of purchased at diff time and diff place/shop as mine wasn't bought at IT-Show but Funan...and already couple of days after the IT-Show:embrass:...(oh ya, mine was a mini-Canon-black-bag that I really doubt a xxxD DSLR can fit in:bsmilie:...cos my G1X already quite fully occupied the inside space available liao-lor...hahahaa!!!

Well, for your case I'm not:nono: in any position to give any answer, so best is you call the shop:thumbsup: where you made your purchase of G1X and see what the salesperson in charge has to say before any "move/action"...where I think is the best move for the time being...!! What's your take then, agree or not, bro...?

Btw, for my case, it was the shop's salesperson-in-charge, told/advised me to collect my free-bundled-gift through CSC...!!!

Hi guys... the leather case i got for free is also collected from harbour front... it's very retro look high quality brown leather with matching shoulder straps, and only holds the camera. It looks like this

also, Canon singapore just called me... my filter adapter is in!!! To be collected at vivo city canon. Price is SGD$39 bucks which is pretty ok considering people are paying up to USD$45 for it elsewhere. I've reserved mine so i can collect anytime this week. But the rest of you better quickly grab or call them to reserve.

Woah...too Fast too Scary:sweat:...as I just spoken to CSC and was told NO Stock liao-lor (...the Filter-adapter...arghhh:angry.....gotta wait at least 2-weeks or more for their next shipment manzzz...!!!!!!:cry:

Btw, I've checked with them and was told that those who entitled to the free brown-leather-pouch were bought from IT-Show and thereafter, was given the free black-mini-Canon-bag...(...that's the one I'd gotten...as I've mentioned a few threads before this, that at least I preferred cos need to/can bring along CPL & CloseUp filters and lenspen cleaner, a mini-tripod and my mobile-phone and extra battery too...!!! )...instead of the leather ones...at least now that I felt much "clearer":thumbsup:

I got the mini cam bag too. Anyway, having only used the G1X for two weeks and I have to sent it in for repair liao. A corner of the front element chipped off when I cleaned it yesterday night...

I prefer the leather case actually, looks better and more suited to my needs. Considering the price we paid for the camera, I thought the leather case should be a given and not give me a bag that I'm never going to use.

I use the microfiber cloth to clean it and a small piece of glass just went with it. It's the same cloth that I use to clean my dslr lenses.

Maybe try put up at BnS as WTT with any/those who'd prefer the mini-bag perhaps...!!

Well ok...most important is to 'solve' the chipped=get done/service and move on from there, in order to really and fully :heart:enjoy this piece of great:thumbsup: gear right, bro...agree boh...??...hehe!!
