Ahh... will have to wait. I also had to indent the close-up lens 250d... also dunno wait how long for it. That one super ex... $220! But for now i will try IR with the cam and post some results.

On another note... my indented close-up lens 250d just came in also... so i'll be trying it with the filter adapter this weekend. I'll post macro pics then. Alternatively, there's this guy who has already done some samples and feedback here: Light Description: 250D

tried it at canon show room. must say i am impressed by the quality and noise performance. i believe it is better than my old 500D in noise handling. marco is non existence but for food photo it is ok. af is not suited for sports but it is ok for ppl walking towards u. love the manual controls they replaced iso dial to exposure compensation so it depends which fn u use more often. the tilt screen is great crisp and clear. just that i may find it a little hard to take out the screen at times.
who is this camera for? to me it is a smaller replacement for an entry lvl dslr with say a superzoom lens. i am frequent user of 18-200 with 500d so G1X behaves similarly. not fast af no macro but good for walkabout yet having the IQ of an entry lvl dslr.
going to consider getting it, i am poisoned and if i do i think i will bring it out more often than my basic dslr kit

Well bro, you'll be if you go check again by strictly Following--->>>this "route"...and that's,
:bigeyes:go to Dpreview's site...select accordingly in these Orders/Sequence....., by Brand...select Canon...select EOS 60D 1st, then go to 'High-ISO' section-page, then select the other 3-cameras to fill up the 3-comparison-columns by select G1X for the 2nd-column, then 3rd is D5100 then last is D7000 and 'Set' their "NR" to either Standard=Canon, and Normal=Nikon...!!!
HAHAHA...you'll be surprised, if not "SHOCK", on G1X's "NOISE+Details...!!!":bigeyes:in the Grey-color, and Red/Blue/Green-Color-areas:thumbsup:...as well as checking who's got the 'BEST-Details' at each Incremental-ISO-Level by referring to the :bigeyes:'Side-view-of-Model's-face/sideburns/Crown-Details:thumbsup:...!!!!!!
Canon G1X really ROCKS-man...!!!!!!!!!! Oh and yes, not forgetting there's this 14-bit-RAW thingsss...ya...hehee...Splendid!!!!!!

ooops i got mine on tues last piece from orient photo. many reputable stores in funan no stock so when OP said they had last set I rushed over to buy.
