I read through the printed manual and didn't find anything. Haven't gone through the CD one yet.

Any the ghosting issue. I took same shot same setting on my s95 and g1x. Both have the same issue. Could it be normal? Or the design flaw? Meaning all the g1x facing the same issue

It's probably normal. My fuji x100 ghosts heavily too.

test shot abt ghosting..
both my s95 and G1X has the same issue. now i gotta wait for my bro s100 to test out see if it has the same issue

The above is a test shot of the night scene Capability. i must say i am impressed. the noise control is suberb. even the quality of the pic blew me away. its somthing i can only get using my dslr. though it no where exactly near. but i am still impressed its able to produce such image.

Ooh...:embrass:...hehe...forgotten to highlight that I was referring to the 'detailed:thumbsup:-CD-Manual-PDF' and not that 'Quick-start manual-booklet':nono: that was bundled in the package...:)

Well, from your above comparison of the "ghosting" is considered as :thumbsup: enough liao...compared to S95...don't you agree bro...??

Btw, as for the 3rd pic, if compared to Kit-lens of DSLR-(...without-edit-pic...)...can considered as good enough lor and not just "...though it no where exactly near...".....haha...!!!;)

This is just a very quick and simple TEST-Shot using Canon G1X at ISO-6400 and ISO-12800 respectively, in a dimly-lighted Studio...!!!

***( Pls read ->>>.....look at the wall in-between the brown-wooden-rack and Digicabi...yes shadowed wall "noise":thumbsup:...FYI, this is a non-edited-pic...!!!!!)

ISO=6400

ISO=12800

Result is simply Stunning-in terms of "noise"...and even the colors were very faithfully retained as my actual 'Light-Rose-Pink' colored Studio...it could be due to the used of the New DIGIC-5.....!!! :heart:AWESOME, I'd say...!!!!!

Btw, as FYI, sample-pics on 'MACRO' - 'Food_&_Toys-shots', please check it out at 'Abstract and Still Life'-section...under...'My Figurines and Collectibles'...yah...see you there...!!!;)

Read the CD manual already. But seems a bit odd. It says blue frame is when the camera detects there is subject movement and the camera is then tracking the subject in that blue frame constantly adjusting itself to suit the subject - but i was taking still objects when the blue frame beeps!

And before you say cos it was actually me shaking and the camera tot it was subject movement, the camera has a different icon for camera shake (the orange colour thing at the bottom left hand corner).

Maybe i have to go back and check and turn off the servo and/or continuous AF.

Ya i actually don't think the ghosting is very bad. When you take light source will normally have one. Although it case i think its more flare than ghosting...to me, when taking the flickering flame of a candle then only is ghosting.

The camera shake icon only pops up if it cannot achieve a fast enough shutter speed and there may be handshake introduced. The blue icon just means it engaged AF-C.

Yep. Funny thing is under blue frame, the subject sometimes "throbs". So I think I will turn it off. Find the throbbing disconcerting. Never seen this before.

U also have a G1X?

Been playing with one for the last 2-3 days... Thinking of getting it, yup. :)

For me, I didn't use/select this, hence, my/the 'servo/continuous AF-C...!!;)

True...good:thumbsup: liao-leh bro, cos even any/most compacts/more-exp-lenses will normally have ranging from mild to...erhmm:sweat:..."hahaha"=output/pic lor.....heheee!!!!!! Most importantly, to me, is minor ghosting acceptable so long as no real "ghost-in-pic"...:bsmilie:...'Thanks-sky-thanks-ground' lor...HaHa-Haaa...!!!!!:bsmilie:

After u turn off af servo no more blue frame and the "throbbing" gone. Straight to green box. Af-c is ok.

Want to check with you guys. I bought my G1X from CP during the IT fair week. Till now Canon has not even given CP the camera pouch for this. And so i have no pouch for it too. Am i the only one? Thanks

Ya I also bought from CP and don't have the pouch also. But I put inside my camera bag so no problem for me.

thanks for the reply. Is funny how canon fails to send them all the accessories after almost 2 weeks since end of IT fair.

I would have prefer not to lug my bigger camera bag and just use its own pouch when using the G1X only.

The thing is I don't think the Canon pouch is going to be a very good one. I am guessing it will be like those pns type of pouches.

So I got myself a very nice small-mediumish sized manfrotto bag which has space for my spare battery and 320EX flash as well as my wallet and mobile.
