Right now I still love the 135/2 but its a little too long for me to work with. The 85/1.8 is nice on a 1.6 crop but my current workhorse is the 70-200/4 for the fexibility :)

Sell all 3 and get a 70-200f2.8 :bsmilie:

Currently only have a 70-200f/4 leh. Been playing with the rest. Yea slowly saving up for the 2.8 IS now hehe..

Which lens depends on what body/crop factor u r using .

Go with primes !

If I may say so, I feel the hair light abit too strong already? But good examples of portraits :D I can learn alot from you.

True, but no time to adjust.

Just a question... for portraits in a studio, will the 135mm or 85mm more suitable??? Assuming FF.... I am interesting in signing for studio photogaphy with SPS...

Are you using AWB?

Shot in RAW. Canon AWB cannot make it :bsmilie:! If can, must teach me how! (I tend to increase the warmth rather than go for accuracy. Pleasantness over accuracy).

Anyway, I use WhiBal cards (http://www.whibal.com/) and they are much better than ExpoDisc and simpler to use; no filter size worries, no incident light issues, no vignetting concerns (will meter wrongly if there are black spots, etc. ED is used rarely.

That is me holding up the WB card correctly without warmth added. But there are unintended results as you need the cooperation of the subject, like my nephew below:

I'm using FF but only brought the 50L and the 85L to shoot. I find the working distance with the subjects very comfortable.

Here is a sample shot of the 135L (with soft focus). My little boy with his aunt (my younger sis): 135L may be a little too long for studios that are small.

The card looks interesting, anything place carry it in singapore other than ordering it on the website huh?

Yes... that is what I thought too... might be too small......... and having 50, 85 by right should be enough... 135 will be only as a standby......... ;)

Thanks bro for your insight.....

Thanks bro Hacker for sharing. Very informative!

I got it from the website directly. Better to MO if you want to save costs. Shipping for me was almost the same price as the product itself  .

The shot of my little 2 years, 2 month old son who refuses to sit still.

From where I am, there is a main light using the soft box at my right (can see from the eyes) and one of my left for the filler (think it is 2.5 stops lower). One behind my son for the hairlight and one that is very low powered for the background (may be a little too lower powered).

One more:

Don't seem to like your dof on your son's hands. Its a personal thing with me!

Can I just clarify.. "DOF" of the hands? I see everything sharp at that f-stop. Or do you mean the position/pose of the hands?

if you combine the question with price - which I feel is really an important factor the 50mm 1.4 really rocks. It is affordable - ridiculously sharp and gives an awesome bokeh!!

Voted for "Others". EF 135 f/2 L that is.
