First one a bit distracting and not showing the power of the GX .... ;)

I like the second one which you focused on the part man always look at first.

Arrange a shoot lah.

1st shot with Hassy not GX.

2nd shot Don't any how say :nono::bsmilie:

Going Monday morning with modelinn to test my Rolleicord. I think it will be hard as the screen is dim. :dunno:

Still have slots?? I was shooting a freelance over weekend, and turned up very well.... hee hee

Went down to Melacca for a day and had lunch at this chicken rice ball shop at the corner of Jonkers street. I believe he is the shop owner, chopping chicken to serve the hungry patrons.

Anyone wanna guess what camera is used for this shot?

Exposure from VC meter, using TMax 100 developed on D76.

I think I've eaten at this stall before. Seagull TLR huh?

Well... not sure whether he was enjoying his chicken rice ball, but I could tell he wasn't too happy seeing me snapping at him. ;p

I am going for the 25 May shoot. By Melody love, I like the Kolomee girl and perhaps would just concentrate shooting her.

Model depends on individual's taste. I think these models knows how to engage the photographer.... for some models, really i don't think I want to shoot :(

Will load up 2 TLR and shoot in one go. No need to bother changing film .... :bsmilie:

Anyone interested?

Chiif, nice exposures and good shot!

I think they might wonder what you are doing. For me, I turn the camera 45 degress to prevent someone hitting my head.... I like to shoot other's girlfriend at times... :bsmilie:

Stopped down to F5.6 the new Seagull Tessar lens is ok, at times comparable to Rolleicords. That is why I have shot more on Seagull then on Rolleicords..... nice ones you have shown here. Next time, go even nearer and you will have a picture that has even greater IMPACT

I think you are shooting pretty close with a wide angle lens. Her shoulder tells it all. Try using a normal or slightly tele lens when shooting half body shot. Just my POV. Cheers:)

hee hee... Thanks!

With VC meter it really helps. :)

I was pretty surprised myself on the 4A-109 too. I used to shoot with a 4B before, but I guess the contrast was much lower. The 4A-109 lens is damn good in my own opinion. Handling wise, though not as well built as a Rollei, but it's new & it feels good on the hands too.

Though mechanically not as refined as the Germans. BUT... when I am being attacked, I can use it as a weapon for self protection too.

Ground glass is pretty decent. For those who have a tight budget and want to go into TLR and afraid of getting a rollei lemon from eBay... the seagull is a very safe bet. As for reliability, don't use the self time, I guess it should be ok.

For a traveling TLR camera, I will vote for the Seagull 4A-109. At sub 400 price tag, I don't feel the pinch. :)

Compared to the plastics Holga, I think this is much more value for money. For those thinking of getting one, go for the 4A-109 rather than the 4B. The 4 element lens makes a difference in my own opinion.

Thanks Jonathan for reviving such a classic gem!

According to Michelin, the daughter of Seng Cheong boss, she said one common problem on Seagulls is that if the self timer hasn't finished activating the shutter release and if you co-ck it, it will jam the shutter mechanism. I haven't tried it myself yet, but I know it will be a pretty expensive test. :)

100% of the failure were user faults, according to the repair guy.

For 4B-1, after cocking the level, DO NOT CHANGE THE SPEED. I saw so many 4B-1 got killed by user anyhow change speed after cocking. (I especially very scard of girls using 4B-1, usually the camera will die within a short time... not trying to be a sexist, but its ture not many read instructions properly before using).

Same for Rollei. The Copal shuttle does not like it. Althought the Rollei wont break so easily, you run a risk.

4B-1 uses the 3 element lens. Need to stop down to F8 for good results.

4A109 uese 4 element Tessar design. Even when new looks very dirty and full of dirt and dust. Try set to F2.8 B and look thru the lens at bright light, you will see many dirts in there. If you get a good service man to clean it up and align the focus, the picture will be even better.

By the way, a LENS HOOD is a 100% MUST. also, it is good to use the multicoated UV filter which is not selling about $11++. This will improve the contrast/color when shooting outdoor.
