Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX5 Specification

The appearance looks really stale; like not much thought went into it. The grip area and that slight hump for the hot-shoe looks like afterthought thrown in last min.

Am i the only one who think the the color white on the LX5 looks like Silver?

Just found out that LX5 max shutter is 1/4000 instead of the 1/2000 in LX3! :D

Do u really need until 1/4000?? I hardly even reach 1/1000 on my LX3 even in bright daylight.
Singaporean sunlight isn't as bright as compared to sunlight in Western countries in summer.

Certain situations would make good use of 1/4000, like taking photos on a clear sunny day in the beach, or if you're trying to avoid diffracted images by keeping a relatively open aperture and compensating with shutter speed. It's definitely a welcome upgrade.

is the shutter speed limited to certain aperture size? my g2 has.

Hi, wait for suntec roadshow, 2-5th sept and review before buying.

I was in Australia earlier this year and was summer with scorching heat and totally blue skies. Still my LX3 seldom hit above 1/1250. Pics are taken at f/8, ISO 100.

The 1/4000s speed is only available at higher ISO like 12,800
Unless you want noises, it's no way you shoot at 1/4000s.
Panasonics are good at playing the "number" gimmicks now :bsmilie:

Are you sure about that? Shutter speed 1/4000S is only available at higher ISO??

Please provide info.

I got this link from Website, inside showing some pic taken at iso 200 range with high shutter speed and its using LX3.

may i know where did you get this info? personally being able to shoot at high speed at low iso and big aperture is important feature. else i better stick to my trusty g2.

Well, if you want to take the picture wide open at f2.0...

Generally we don’t do that under bright day, but if one need action stopping shutter speed (1/4000), at least the option is there.

1/125 F11 @ISO100 = 1/4000 F2 @ISO100

er... f2=shallow dof?

why else people get f1.2 or f2 prime lens?
