OFFICIAL: CANON EOS 6D - User Thread - Part 3

Using Nikon, Contax, Leica R etc legacy lenses can give results that are different from Canon lenses. To some, myself included, the IQ in many cases is even better than Canon L lenses. You lose the AF as a trade-off. It depends on what you prefer. Of course you can stick with native canon mount if that works best for you.
agreed! MF on these lenses can be a pleasure provided you are not shooting fast moving subjects

I guess this is without int'l warranty but not grey unit?
Thanks.

If you are referring to the Echo camera store in Hong Kong, then yes. They stock local HK sets, not grey sets, no international warranty.

The price is really good- is that for the body only? Cash, I supposed.
Guess it may have gone up a a little. I am planning to get one with the 24-105 kit when in HK next month. That's why I am interested.

but if you can't get warranty, you might as well buy grey set

Grey sets from Hong Kong? Is it reliable to get from them? Anyone with experience before?

Does 6d only have a single axis in-built leveling gauge??
Or do I have to switch on a particular option to enable the 2 axis leveling gauge?

Only single axis. Which cam has dual axis ?

Hi.. Anyone here purchased from valuebasket.com.sg? They offer COD and I believe its grey sets, but with 3 year warranty. Price is significantly cheaper.

OT abit, from ur link u mentioned that u will get lesser bokeh with the 24-105 n 6d vs 60d n 17-55. Rest assured ur actually getting "more" bokeh.

I bought a local warranty 6D set and found the battery to have something loose inside...
Brought it svc center within a week..

New LP-E6 in wrap was given as replacement...

Little writeup of the experience here

Another company, DDElectronics also offers COD and with 3 years warranty. You can compare prices offered by these 2 companies.

Hi, is there anyone know what is the price for the sensor cleaning?

Mine current set has some dust issues.

If yours is local set, can just bring to Canon service centre for servicing and cleaning without charges. Thats why we pay a bit more compared to grey set.

Or call them for quotation if not local set.

Since when Canon provides FOC sensor cleaning? Do not mislead others.
