OFFICIAL: CANON EOS 6D - User Thread - Part 3

hehe it is definitely good enough, although specs are not as high as the 5D3 or 1DX. quite alot of users in CS i think, otherwise it wouldn't reach 3 user thread topics so far hehe

The 6D must be v good IMHO..
Of all the bodies I had, this topic is the one with the least discussion (problems and issues).

Either that or not that many is using the 6D...

The 6D is a great camera. Having a really great time shooting especially with the wifi. I now use my hp as a 'tilt screen' for awkward angle and remote trigger during long exposure and bulb mode

Saw that you use your HP for bulb mode using the WiFi connection? Do you mind sharing which app are you using?

Been trying to do a bulb exposure but just could not do it with the canon eos android app.

Read from somewhere u have to set the camera itself in Bulb Mode for this to work.

I use the eos app. Like what Gizmo said, u have to set the camera to bulb mode. And like using bulb on the camera itself u will have to press the shutter button on ur hp screen without letting go. Once u let go the shuyter will close.

it will be better if the app allow us to press once to open shutter and press again to close it. but I guess it is still much easier to hold the button on ur hp than on ur camera.

Thanks thanks. i tired it out. Turns out I didnt put it into bulb mode. Didnt realise that you need to do that to use the app. :embrass:

I have installed it in both my ipad and note2, both working fine.:)

Thanks for the info, both! I shall go try n load again on my ipad.

took an event at night yesterday..
set up was 6D+24-105 + 580EXII

Many times, when i half press and full press, the thing doesn't focus and shoot. sometimes it does, but after a lag time.
the lag can be as long as 1-2 seconds..

im not too sure if it refuses to focus and shoot because my flash softbox was partially blocking my AF assit (but it wasnt totally pitch dark!),
or im not used to the 6D button (it doesnt have a distinct shutter half press as compared to my 400D).

anyone has any idea?

hi

could it be that the silent shutter is turned on?

Hi,

Did anyone bought the Delkin Skin for your Canon 6D? Do you think is necessary? Any shop selling in SG?

Hi,

That would be necessary if you're not feeling safe for your 6D without exterior protection from scratches etc. It is otherwise making 6D slightly bulkier though.

That said, it is useful if you're using 6D in some harsh environment, but other than that it's unnecessary.

Hi all,

Anyone has ever tried shooting using EOS remote on smart phone or tablet with wireless flash trigger on the camera to fire off-camera flash?

I have tried today using wireless trigger to fire the flash using smart phone but it didn't fire. However, it did fire when I use my hand to press the shutter (traditional shooting style).

Anyone has experience on this kind of situation? Please advise.

Thank you.

I just bought a 6D! joined the world of full frame!

Not sure if this is possible, tethering between iPad & EOS6D? (:

Advice, thanks!

Just bought a 6D. but the battery seems not charging at first try, it is completely out of juice when try at shop. When back home charging, it shows very fast orange blinking which worries me. After 2 hours it still blinks the same. I took it out and put in camera.. cannot turn on. I put it back to charger again, it now seems charging normally with 1 second blinking...

Anyone has faced the same?

I think you may have misaligned the battery when inserting the battery to the charger. Had this before, took out, put it back correctly and it charged.

If you try it and still can't charge, time to bring to service centre (or shop to check first?).
