OFFICIAL: CANON EOS 6D - User Thread - Part 3

Singapore price is about $120 if I remember the last time I asked. Cheaper to get from reputable online retailers like B&H if possible.

B&H has a shipping cost right? and it is not that cheap i believe as i went to the website and check. I may be wrong though

Hi zorrus.

The battery can be as high as 4000 baht at some shops so to get the battery for 2400 baht is a bargain for me. Actually the shop's website shows the price to be 2590 baht but the sales guy sold me cheaper. I'm certainly not complaining. I wonder how much it costs in Singapore.

How to locate that shop? i went to the website, and its all in thai :(

Yup! Battery (canon) cost $120! I'm heading to bkk soon too! Good idea!

how about buying at SG airport before flying out?
less GST right?

It's going to be selling at retail price..which is maxed out..even if there's no gst n airport tax etc it's still not street price..otherwise tourist would be shopping there instead of going to funan or China town etc

The shop that I bought the battery from is called Digital2Home. Here's the link:

It's in Thai, of course. The battery LP-E6 is listed as 2590 baht.

They also have 3rd party batteries. I am using one for my 60D & it works fine so far (1 year already). But when I put this battery in the 6D, there was an error message - cannot communicate with battery. The 6D battery indicator shows battery is empty but the camera is still functional. So that's why I decided to but original battery.

imho, dont waste time on cheong batteries.

if one can cough out a few grand for a camera, how much painful can an original battery hurt the wallet?

Free shipping within USA. The catch is you either need someone to help you bring it back to SGP, or use a delivery service like vpost or similar. I hear some mention that vpost doesnt allow delivery of lithium batteries but ive had no issues. The battery itself costs about S$80 each.

hmm sounds complicated to me. As in if i buy it off b&h, the delivery address will be to eg. vpost of US? At the same time, i should have already engaged vpost US on this already? Sorry ah, noob on this

I usually use Phottix Titan or recently, Chromage... Relatively cheap, and compatible with the 6D too...

Red Dot Photo at Paya Lebar and Funan sells the Chromage ones at S$32 a pop.. The newer blue label ones are compatible with the 6D...

I am going to ask a fren to buy a 6D body for me when she visits Japan next month. It is priced about S$2.1k or less, I guess.
Saving of S$400 thus but without local warranty of course.
What do you think? Is the trade off worth it?

I think so but it's your choice. You should be able to get it for $2k there.
