OFFICIAL: CANON EOS 6D - User Thread - Part 3


hi sorry a little off topic, im actually combining with another cser to buy the 6d + 24-105 kit from technogadgets. Does anyone know if they accept cash payment at their office? would be much easier if we could just go down together any pay our own halves instead of having one of us fork out all the money for the bank payment option first.

Also i noticed that their 6d + 24-105 offer was just taken down (1 hour ago?) from their website. From their thread in the mass sales i noticed that their sale list usually comes out on friday and ends on tues. IF the 6d somehow dosnt appear again, does anyone know if they are willing to give the previous week's discount? thanks all!

Yes they do if the stock is available.If not they will let you know first the price different.If you are willing to pay the different then they will proceed.About the halve payment I'm not so sure.You can drop them an email to query.Hope that help:)

thanks haha. yea i dropped them an email earlier. but i guess they would only reply tomorrow, i hope to at least account to the other guy sharing the kit with me so that he would be in the know about this haha. never dealt with them before (kinda different compared to physical walk-in shops like SLRR or TKphoto)

so cash payment should be no problem ya? half payment is a non-issue - we would sort that out ourselves

Are you sharing the camera with someone else? I'm just curious... how does that work?... what is the arrangement?

no la we buy a kit and split body and lens lol haha. not sharing the body.

body haha. cant wait to use the 6d.... gona be a major improvement over my old 50d in terms of ISO/video haha

Oh yeah... you'll notice a difference even in the still photos (resolution, sharpness, etc).

I used to own a 50D once too. Nice camera but no match for the 6D or 5D3.

yeah haha. the 50D i have to admit was a great camera for me - only thing that was lacking was probably ISO due to the slightly older tech and lack of video.

I used to own the 40D and noticed a big difference between it and the 50D. I can remember that many people thought the IQ of both cameras were about the same but I thought that the differences were obvious. Then I jumped to the 7D and I felt that the IQ of the 50D and 7D were similar with a slight edge towards the 7D. Regardless, the AF of the 7D was so much better.

The only annoying thing about my 50D was that after 30 minutes of use, I got a hot pixel showing up in every photo. It is the only camera that I experienced this with. Other than that, the 50D was a good camera over-all.

Anyway, I think you'll see a big difference between the 50D and 6D. Full frame cameras have a slight edge in colour, contrast and over-all IQ. Enjoy your camera once you get it!
 

Bro, what setting u guys use when shooting events? Using 6D that is. AI Focus?
 

Hi all,

Today I have asked Cathy for 6D with 24-105mm price and they quoted $3439 their free gift is 32GB memory and I can claim other gifts (Dry box, bag & lightroom) at Canon. Can anyone tell me how is the price? I am waiting the price to go down below $3000.

And how often canon have promotion like this? Even though I don't want Lightroom and dry box, I like to get the 6 million dollars bag. :)

Hmmmm 5D3 got the zonal focusing,believe 6D due to the limited focus point,don't have? useful for fast moving subject. But then, price diff between the 2 is still very wide.

you can choose all 11 AF points to start tracking from the ctr point. its very basic and not called zone focusing, even though it works like one.
