Japanese pricing:

Body only S$1862.00 after conversion...

If I remember correctly I bought my D7000 at 1680sgd body only (cathay photo) almost a year after its release... Hopefully the D7100 will be at the same price point or lesser..

So it's true that the Nikon D800E does have an AA filter .......... they added an other filter to cancel it ....... :what:
Could explain why the D800E isn't that much sharper as the D800 as it's expected to be.

That's too high. I think more likely $1.5k.
That's just the suggested retail price. Should be much cheaper soon, just watch Amazon JP.

D7k is around 1.8k when i bought it. 1.5k is a silly price point for a high spec dslr.

I quite like the high no. of focus points and the 2x crop what I see from the specs

That's actually the price Bic Camera is selling. Of course, Bic Camera isn't the cheapest in Japan but rather "reasonable". Within Japan it's average, and with my current trip's observation, it's price point of various cameras is either the same, or cheaper than Singapore's street price. There will be a certain range of items that will be much more expensive, which is usually individual brand's flagship items. Such as the D4 from Nikon, 1DX from Canon, 35mm f/1.4 from Sigma. Consumer level products such as D7100 is close with SG pricing.

Talk to the sales persons at BIC, they can make you a better offer.

Probably, still window shopping between various Bic and Yodobashi stores. Most probably end up with Bic because they give a 5% discount to Visa, while Yodobashi favors UnionPay. :bsmilie:

Probably? There is a lot of room. Anyway, both too expensive for my taste.

is 50mm lens = 50 x 1.5 x 1.3 = 97.5mm?
