Items From DD Electronics

OK, decide to walk pass that store and take a look.
There are several salesperson there and dealing with a several locals and tourists.
Looks like you must do a online order first, rather than just walk in and buy.
It's quite neatly laid out. Near the front door were some parcels waiting to be delivered to Australia.
Those that bought from him were given time to inspect the lenses very thoroughly, test them on their own cameras, ask questions.
They clearly state that they are grey sets, no canon SG warranty but 1 year manufacturer malfunction you can bring back to them for repairs or exchanges. Does not cover mistreatment / accidents like dropping a lens off and smash it.
So should probably be OK.

I bought lenses from them. Not just one but three of a period of 1 year. Place your order, walk in and collect it and make your payment. Lenses seldom spoil unless you don't treat it well.

No need to purchase extended warranty. My first lens bought from them is already more than a year old. Still good. This is as much as I can say. The salesman seems honest but is not knowledgeable. I would give them a rating of 9.5/10 if you think John 3:16 is 10/10.

I totally agree that lens won't spoil so easily one. Extended warranty is not necessary.

I have a wonderful experience with them also. Makes you feel really confortable when you are there. They even pose for me to snap when I was testing out the lens. The price of my lens fell between my order and pickup, and they are nice enough to let me pay at the lower price

I think this shop means business. They have a big shop front near boat quay now. Not sure if it has opened. Last week when I drove past, the renovation still on-going.

By the way, when I was picking up my lens, I actually asked for the availability of another lens. They have it and told me I can buy it at the same time. I guess if you guys are in the area, maybe can just pop in to ask if the lens you want is available. If available, you should be able to buy it on the spot.

Ok folks, I've placed an order for the Tamron 18-270mm lens from them after much consideration.

Will see how this goes. :)

Today i have collected my 16-35mm L which placed order last week. I have tried out 2 same lens without any question ask from the sales person (Ashman). Their services is excellent and the lens code is UY0805 which i paid for $1896.30 cash less 2% come with 12 months warranty. Highly recommend

I bought a Nikon flash from them a few months back.
Ordered online, they called me several days later to confirm. Collected at their store, friendly no frill service. Yes, 2% discount if pay cash.
Nothing negative about them, pleasant experience.

Just collected my Tamron 18-270mm lens from them today.

Paid $620 for the lens and an additional $38 for a UV filter.

Very friendly staff I must say.

Their price fluctuates regularly. After I bought the Bigmos from them, they increase the price by another $29.

Bought my 50D 2 months ago from them as it was cheaper than buying 2nd hand from B&S. Absolutely no problems so far.

I walk past them everyday.. my office is just ard the corner :)

actually, these grey goods are worth it IF the shop stand by to your needs. When I love in HK i hv better experience dealing with the shops than authorize agent. PI (like car PI) is their own biz.. they try their best to protect their reputation. Authorize shop got the few HK ahbengz dont care ur needs... ask the SIP question only: latest firmware? got off and wait 6 mins and on back? got try reading FAQ in support? blah blah blah

I hope Spore got more of such PI shops for cameras and give good in shop warranty... that way, all consumer get their choice and get wider range of prices to choose from.

This sounds like a good option than getting 2nd hand stuffs from B&S which may be higher price and no warranty.

Hi, am I allow to purchase from their shop directly or is a must to purchase online?

but their new stores looks like u are able to walk in and buy ... they are setting it up.. almost 70% done

From what I know they do not have a warehouse so you may not get available stock if walk-in, they will need to bring in from their Australia branch so it's better to call or order online and confirm before going, Only the less expensive accessories are displayed in the new shop.

been tracking the discussions here about the reliability of the store, so was a little apprehensive.

but some of their prices were quite good, and their location is near my workplace, so decided to give it a shot.

started with some email correspondences about d700 and 16-35 f4; emails were prompt (within half hour-one hour) and polite.

prices quoted were (in SGD) 2861 and 1674 respectively -- only if by cash. if by card, 2920 and 1709 respectively.

had scouted Funan, best prices i heard were 3050 and 1810, cash. there was a shop that quoted 3007 for the d700 but i don't trust that shop.

d700 was out of stock at DD, so i settled for the lens. it looked okay to me. tested some shots, also seems fine. the staff was very polite too.

and as mentioned by others (and cofirmed by DD), warranty is "in-store" and for one year.
