From the examples posted here the lens seems to have quite good depth of field even at f1.1 .......

Same feeling here...:dunno: I thot it's too much DOF for f1.1

possibly due to the crop factor as most the pictures here were shot by the epson r-d1(s)/leica m8. :dunno:

No, crop should not affect DOF, but it will hide corners imperfection or light falls off if there are any.

it's all a matter of "perception" when it comes to "half frames", yes the actual DoF is not affected.

This lens is actually pretty well balanced on the RF body...

wa, very nice lens, orgasmic, think I got a cum shot in my pants :bsmilie:

Definetly on the list of "to buys" but ghment only give $200, not $2000:bsmilie:

From what I notice from chiff's film pic.. The middle highlights was overblown and was pulled back..

Notice the vignetting at the sides on film compare to the middle... When I use my nikon 50mm f1.2, I always -1/2 a stop because the middle always overexpose...

Hope to see more pics taken from slides, M8 sensor is special because it suppose to reduce vignetting. On slides, all the flaws will be clearly seen.. Sharpness, contrast and everything...

So far in nokton f1.1 flickr group, not much impressive pics... To be honest, all the japnese lense I own are sharp.. Never heard of new Jap lense that are not, even my kookoo mis-focus all the time 50mm f1.2 L lens is sharp..

then somebody should shoot some pictures wide open at the minimum focusing distance. Then we'll see if the DoF is a matter or 1-2cm or 5-10cm

Sometimes the truth can be hard to swallow. ;p
