Not too sure ..should be wide.. Don't remember turning the aperture ring at all..

was the nok stopped down a little for this shot? the lights in the bg have slight edges to them... :dunno:

omg.... 1st flaw spotted!:o

just joking.... :bsmilie:

would be great if some of the "shi-fu" masters do some comparisons with the titans like the leica noctilux or konica hexanon f1.2

not here to do "flaw-spotting", but am already quite the fan. i was suppose to get mine last week when it arrived. i had drawn out an elaborate plan to intercept chiif after he took shipment from JAL on his way back to his gigantic voigtlander warehouse... but the plan flopped when my wife told me that i had to stay home and babysit... *slaps forehead*

mine should be coming this saturday... woohoo!! ;)

its really really sharp !!!! eyes pain kind...

Please everyone buy this and sell their Noc.. :)

Ladies & Gentleman...

No lens test is complete without actual field test...

My contribution of test shot. Wide open.

Poison! Poison! Poison!
:D

Hi guys,

A couple more shots shot wide open...

I also did a comparison at infinity focus in low light with the Leica Noctilux-M 50mm f/1.0 and Canon 50mm f/1.2 LTM on the Epson R-D1. This is the one from Voigtlander Nokton 50mm f/1.1 at f/1.1.

The Canon 50mm f/1.2 LTM comparison pictures are here.

The Leica Noctilux-M 50mm f/1.0 comparson pictures are here.

The rest of the Voigtlander Nokton 50mm f/1.1 comparison pictures are here.

I think this is going to be one of my favorite lens for quite a while...

Cheers,

Hi guys,

I just updated with some more test images.

I did a ten picture series comparing Gommy's Leica Noctilux-M 50mm f/1.0 with the Voigtlander Nokton 50mm f/1.1 shot wide open, f/1.4, f/2.8, f/4.0 and f/8.0 at 1 m.

The Leica Noctilux-M 50mm f/1.0 picture are here.

The Voigtlander Nokton 50mm f/1.1 pictures are here.

Cheers,

Bro, how come you only comparing the f1.1 with the f1.0. I think the f1.2 should also join in! Especially you have the Canon 50f1.2 LTM

Haha didn't know you posted.
From your photos it looks like the Nokton f1.1 and Canon f1.2 bokeh are the same.

Poison! Damn the images being put up are really nice. I want one too.... grrr.
I've got a M mount canon f0.95 coming in 2 weeks but now I want the Nokton too! How can I afford both? Well, I can't so its gonna be one or the other... trying times ahead I tell ya.

I'll trade you for it! :D

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind... but can't do direct trade lah! The canon cost me quite a bit, you'll have to top up! But don't mind if we exchange our lens to test test play play for a week or two... hee...

wow! the nokton at f1.1 is so much sharper than the noctilux at f1.0. Just look at the word "Rollei 35RF" on the camera body. These were taken on tripod or handheld?

Think I need to get one myself! ;p

Wah serious?
I would love that bro!

I'll be getting the Nokton in about 2 more weeks when my paycheck comes in :bsmilie:

i think you might have accidentally dropped it to 1.4. i just picked up mine today, exhibits the same at 1.4, as does the noctilux (some would argue to a larger / lesser degree, but it's there).

the nokton1.1 is definitely sharper than the noctilux wide open, but it's a different look. yes, i'm trying to make sure the price of my noc doesn't fall through the floor :bsmilie: but i think those who have seen the output from the noctilux would know what i'm talking about. it is something like the pre-asph vs asph, the asph is of course sharper, but some ppl prefer the overall "feel" of the pre-asph.

some english lit major help me out pls... engineer, lawyer, anyone...

You succumbed! Poison, poison...

In the night and wide open...

ISO 200, 1/84 sec, f/1.1 on Epson R-D1. Focused on 'T' at 1 m.

The Nokton and the Noctilux are two different lens. They are not the same and will never be. Let's just enjoy each lens for what they are.

Cheers,
