My saliva really comes out seeing your LX and FA 20 :bsmilie:

btw how's the scan quality from Konota?

Haha, thanks. It's quite good for an express service :D, to my expectation but costly :(. I thought last Saturday you used Tmax B&W film, turned out to be Portra. I will sure try it next time.

They said the color of new portra is more to portra NC than porta VC. Some even said it does resemble ektar. But the grain is really good for 400 film, optimized for scanning perhaps?

just wondering is there any difference if I were to say, shoot using LX and shoot using an ME using the same film and lens?

shoot at night? sure there's difference

unless someone come out with moony 16 rule :bsmilie:

The difference is definitely there. You feel like a master when you are holding an LX, so you'd be more confident, thus less hand shake, and more photo opportunities with better photos (see nqtuyen photos above). But w/ ME, you probably don't trust your gear that much, thus thinking more about the gear instead of the photos. End up w/ more testing photos when using ME (like me ;)).

Joking asid, this might be true, you know...

:sweat: then imagine it will apply in 30 days from crescent to full moon :bsmilie::bsmilie:

As Fengwei pointed out, no difference in output from the two body. But the handling, metering, functions and reliability make them different.

Finally finished my roll after almost a year...
But first, some virgin test shots from the 645 + 150/3.5 + 75/2.8 + Kodak Pro 160

Straight scan from Epson V700 courtesy of Oceanpriest, to evaluate film rendering. Colour looks muted yet true-to-scene. Metering seems a bit overexposed in AV mode, but acceptable.
Gotta take much more slower shots and bring a tripod along for framing and slower shutter speeds. The 645 is a beast to hand-hold for extended periods.

Mmm... mine look underexposed in AV mode.

Some shots from 645 and 75mm f2.8 on Ektar 100

Just curious, is this under natural light or you used flash/reflectors?

under natural light, around 9-10am before the rain

Great work! You reckon using the 645 made it easier or do you think you could get the same results with 35mm or cropped sensor?

35mm is much easier to use, so I prefer 35mm. I think using 50mm f1.2 (on 35mm) the dof should be similar to 75mm f2.8 (on 645). Haven't tried 6x7 though

Sorry for the vignet, I use wrong metal hood (too long) that I usually use with my 50mm lens on k-x.

MZ-5n, Revuenon 55mm f1.2 (all wide open), Portra 160VC

the focus beep sound does help alot! too bad viewfinder is smaller than k1000

I've never handled anything but a 35mm SLR before so you are in a better position to say whther 645 is easier or not. Perhaps i was wondering more if in lower light situations, a medium format camera is better...

keep the shots coming! you're doing justice to the model with your work :-)

Bro those are really nice shots, the backgrounds taken on 645 are like painting. But somehow in some shots I still prefer to keep the background sharp :D.

Nice one with the Revuenon.
I think I prefer the Pentax 50/1.2 ones more though...
