Haven't posted any film photos for a long time. Here are some photos of my recent tries. Believe it or not, this is the first time ever that I scanned my own photos. All the while I'd been using shop's services.

Bought an Epson V600 scanner early this year. Other than a try during installation, I'd never even used it for negative scan ...

Well, I have to say the scan results aren't as good as I hoped. Colors seem a bit muted. Will try more in the future.

Here are some from my LX on Fuji Reala 100:

My two favorite models:

LX_07_s.jpg

I also tried one roll of Fujifilm NCP 160 film, the colors are so different from the Reala. Can't say I like them more than the Reala ....

hi! i have the same experience with scanning negatives also, the first few portraits look like a WB issue so maybe you have to tweak the settings of the scanning software. In my case, I just do PP to deal with it. Problem is that you need to have an idea of what the 'ideal' result is supposed to be and then you adjust the settings accordingly. Some scanning software provides preloaded film profiles which you can apply and use to scan the negatives, it took me a while to come to terms with adjusting the settings and I decided to do PP instead since I can make other adjustments and editing if I want to.

No photography or no flash photography? Did you read the sign correctly?

Orh hor...

--edit--

They changed the sign already since 2008. When was the last time you visited national museum?

Some black and white macro shots. It's really fun to see the size of the insect on the negative when it's on 1:1 magnification. Exactly same size :)

I think I'll need more magnifications and better composition. I'm too used to crop/rotate the pic when shooting digital

You are very brave to shoot these with film.

Thanks Donald. Actually, it can be considered my first time, since the butterfly ones aren't counted (not 1:1) :bsmilie:

b&w film has greater exposure latitude than color neg or slide, so it's good film for practice.

did you develop your roll by yourself? They look awesome btw!

Thanks Faris, I develop the b&w negative myself. I also bulk load my b&w film, so I can choose to load how many frames/roll instead of 36. That's quite useful when doing some experiments :)

mostly with Phenix 50/1.7 and K 55/2, on Pentax P3n.
I used some cheap ass film, and it wasn't up to my expectations. It's not sharp at all, bleagh. But I think it's cause I shoot wide open for most shot. Hahaha.

is it difficult to self-develop? I've always wanted to develop it myself, but I don't have a dark enough room. Hahaha.
