I am gonna bring along an axe this time. To cut off the heads of those who pop up in front of my cam.

May wanna try Clifford Pier area. My fren said the view is good and after the event, easier to leave, unlike Esplanade bridge kena jammed.

hi guys! i was there last sunday also!

i was at the esplanade bay lar.(infront of the row of cafes...) on the stony grounds! it was right beside the SFF carnival... lolx. the view there was fantastic( for the high fireworks lar) the lower ones cannot see very clearly lar... but i got a few nice shots. excellent place. it would be better if those who are planning to bring an axe along to cut down a few irritating trees. :bsmilie:

think im gonna fly to the big merlion area after work this weekend. is that place good? any comments? :sweatsm:

hahaha.... not a bad idea.... there was this very very irritating family standing behind me last sun. the father, from 5.30pm till the end of the fireworks, grumble and complain non-stop to everyone within a earshot on how the govt is wasting money setting up this fireworks fest. but... they still stayed and watched. the best thing? they were also there the previous week to watch the SFF... crazy people...

oh yeah... he's one of those people who belong to the "wah! nice pics. u're camera pro one ah?" grp... he saw my 300D and thot i was shooting for some competition or something. sheesshhhh....

I might want to join you guys this weekend. But the tripod I ordered won't be in so soon. No tripod how to shoot? :bheart:

berns, i saw some sucker with dslr take the pics with the monopod lor... i think that guy is some cyborg, can hold steady without jerks. den on NDP day saw another guy with dslr trying to shoot without tripod & monopod... ultimate lor...

btw bernards, u got the shutter cable release already?

Maybe you're right. I arrived at the sheares bridge at around 6.40 pm and the best parts of the bridge were already taken. The other more popular spots are bound to be taken first much earlier.

Perhaps those who are joining us should consider 4.30 pm instead.

Me and my wife will arrive Sheares Bridge around 4.30pm.
I like to relax, view and enjoy the scenery, hopefully the weather is fine.
Snowspeeder, do you have spare tripod? Pass it to me and I will secure one space for you.
During the 1st firework, we manage to sqeeze in and I setup tripod side by side with Holeinone, snowspeeder. T16 and DCA were on the other side (about 10~15m away from me) due to breakway and crowd.

Hey, Sony brothers, why not we group ourselves together, I notice if we setup our tripod side by side close together, and with our bags behind the tripod, no one will be able to cut through us.
United and camp together and no enemy will inflirate through our line of defence. Just my suggestion.

Hi,

I could join you at the spot around that time, will also bring a picnic mat to chop sitting area.

I would suggest that those who can't make it early to pass their tripod to us the day before so that we could help them chop place.

Last week, I actually chase away a few couples who try to act blur and squeeze into my spot which I reserved for my family. :D

What are you trying to say? Stand like a statue and shoot anyway? Then go home and curse at you? :bsmilie:

The D70 doesn;t have a wired cable release. Only one that works on infra. Nikon did this on purpose. ;(

You got lobang to buy a GPMG? New or used? How many rounds fired? Got warranty? Can view first then commit? Meet somewhere central? :blah:

I ordered the Velbon CF 640 tripod from the Eastgear massorder. Did some reading around. Appears to be good quality at a lower price indeed.
