ot abit ar... i went CP & MS color, look for tis legendary op/tech pro strap loop... seem like super mysterious.... dun have black 1, the ultimate mystery... anybody know where 2 get?

also, konota open on sunday? somebody gave me a headsup on the 2 way bubble level...

lastly... hmm tk photo at where ar? see can resist the temptation of the 322 RC anot...

I think John 3:16 at Funan has got some Optech straps. If you cannot find any at all. Go down to TCW, they have some cheong tripod strap with the same spongy material.

I bought the Manfrotto 322RC2 a few days back. Used it twice already. Including a dragon boat race yesterday. I don't like it. I find it very crude. Sometimes I leave the ballhead with a little tension so I can move the cam about and snap without locking the ballhead. But with this 322RC2, you can't do that.

I think I'll do some homework and buy a decent ballhead.

Hey guys, I don't think I can join you all for the shoot. It's too physically demanding for me to bring my wife and kid. Frankly even in my wife's top form day, I don't think I can convince her to climb the sheares bridge.

Maybe this is what I'll do for myself. About 6pm, go and park at 1 Fullerton. Have dinner there until 7pm - 7:30pm then come out and find a good spot somewhere near the merlion. Maybe I can try to get a shot with the merlion in there as well? That should be quite nice.

Not sure if my plan will work. I wasn't there for the last two weekends. Any advice and comments? Am I covered, or am I toast? :p

Don't think you could squeeze in to that spot at that time..... That area will be packed with human.... it would OK only for viewing pleasure....

Bernards, I dun think you can take photo at Merlion as the area is out of bound to VIP only. (This is what I saw during the 1st firework, the security officers clear the area at 6 o'clock and VIPs come in at 7 plus)

By 7.30pm, I dun think you may find space to set up your tripod as by then it will be very crowded.

Since you are at Fullerton, join us at the Esplande Bridge.
Your wife can chit chat with my wife, T16's wife, DCA's girlfriend (women talks) :D , while you kid can play with T16's kid.

Then a few of us can have some equipment talk about D70, 322 action grip, monopod, manfrotto tripod and etc.
What say u...

1) King Tiger and wife
2) T16 and family
3) Snowspeeder
4) Jacky
5)
6)
7)
8)
9)

The rest, please add in your name
Ok, since we finalise the location, we will all meet at Esplanade Bridge.
Snowspeeder and I will be there around 4.30pm.

Then go and get the tripod strap from TCW. Sunday they are not open right? Better go and grab it today. The goods are in their third floor shop. If you don't know where, just ask the ground floor fella.

BTW. They have a pretty good tripod bag going for $45. But sizes are limited.

Hey bro, which part of the bridge? I am worried about toilets, sitting space, etc. Got wife on MC, kid need to change diapers, etc. Damn headache I tell you.

Anyone who arrive there at 4.30pm (or earlier :D ) will find a good spot to camp first, setup tripod and put your bag and barang barang behind the seat so that you can sit now (better than standing there whole day until 8pm).
The rest like T16, DCA, Holeinone, Rexus, Bryan, Bernard and others that come later will setup tripod and join side by side together.
With this, we will create our own security zone, the ladies can sit down behind us and chit chat, while the kids can play among themselve within the security zone(so that you won't be worry your kids running to Esplanade, Fullerton or Merlion area).

Anyone got better suggestion? Please give idea and comment.

For those who come later, can pass us the tripod first, so that can setup and secure space first.
Somebody did ask why tripod, bag cannot meh.
The reason is if I put bag to secure space, by 7pm, people around us will try to move automatically inch by inch, they will shift the bag inwards or away from us, by 8 pm, they will occpy the area.
By putting the 3 long legged tripod, it representing a better icon of occupation, also, though secure space for you all, please try to make it by by 7pm.

While waiting to the firework, I need to ask DCA about your 055 tripod, and Bernard about the D70 and we can talk about other photographic equipment related.

One more thing to add, just for clarification and also in case of any unpleasant thing that can happen.
Though I can help to secure space by passing your own tripod to me,
I will look after it, but I will not be responsible if your tripod is damage (in case there will kids suddenly runnning around or cyclists happen to knock down your tripod, then got scratches or tripod broken into pieces) or stolen (we never know if there happen to have real daylight robbery at crowd place).

Yo Bro, we should be camping in between the starting point (near to Esplanade) and the centre of the bridge.
You will defintely see us there.
For toilet, the nearest is at Esplanade, between 5~10 mins walks depends on the crowd.
Dun go to Fullerton one, too far, dirty and toilet too small, got to queue very long.

Okay, let's bring monopods to use as batons. Have guard duty to secure the perimeter we set-up. Beat anybody who crosses the line with your monopods.

Tiger. The plan sounds good. Maybe I can have dinner at the Esplanade then join you all. But the time of 4:30pm!!!!! Damn kiasu right? Might as well get DCA to setup tentage overnight there!

Camping there after 5pm and we might lose some good spots. Not every part of the esplanade bridge provides an excellent angle of the fireworks. That's why only the early birds can secure the best places. For those of you who plan on coming later, pls don't be too late (before 7pm would be nice). Cos by then the bridge might be so crowded that it may be hard for the few of us to maintain the entire secured area (of course we try our best).

All I ask is for a blue sky tomorrow evening.

I will be going tomorrow for the shoot but I am thinking of shooting at Clifford Pier area. My friend told me the vantage from there is good too and much easier to get out of that place after the shoot. Takes hell of a long time to get out of esplanade bridge, and all that shoving around makes me sick.

siao bo ask me set tent there, wait the uncle selling drinks along the lane with his trolley kan me upside down...

anyway i think i will use tripod strap to link the tripods together, anybody with tripod straps or strings bring along, i using my tripod strap...

oh ya, berns i mean the camera strap lah, i got the tripod strap liao... so u passing the tripod to who? i available & will be at home later lor

At the very least your shots are better than mine. For some reason, my timing is not good enough to press on the shutter the right moment. So here's my story for the day:

We've all seen you posted your face. Well I suppose this is your back view with your tripod...

This was our view from the esplanade bridge

The smoke was blowing towards our direction...should have stationed at the sheares bridge instead
