I just read that someone stole money from the female taxi passenger instead of helping at the accident scene.

To those think that i got upset cause of FT killed innocent lives, you are wrong! In the first place, i hates driver who kill ppl n then got away with a sentence or fine. If those ppl still alive n not in local, sure beaten to death in oversea. Give you vehicle is not for you to speed n then out of control n caused innocent lives.

Feels sad for the taxi driver n abang. Japanese woman, feels that she also suay enoigh. Ferrari driver, wish him go to hell. His wife, i dont pity her, maybe she is happy more than sad as hubby outside with another woman while she having their kid n baby. Now she rich n famous, time for her to find another one. Ha ha!

Is not that we dont rest this matter. That impact n cause, really sickening. He die easy, pity those innocent lor. I ever told other, in sg, kill ppl by car, wouldnt charge for murder, only license revoked n jail n fine.

Recently i was on a bus with few other. When near exit, a car just cut into our lane. The bus jams break, no hit the car. If hit, we can be witness. The best thing is that we turning into 4 lanes, the car going to turn right, i dont understand why he cut into left lane before turning out.

I can only hope that we are not thinking that ONLY PRCs have bad driving attitudes. Probably not, but nonetheless there seems to be a disproportional amount of attention being directed to his nationality, for whatever reason.

I have read about horrible Singaporean driving attitudes in the past, with equally horrible outcomes (if not worse) - of course NO ONE is thinking about what happens or how to get out of it when they are speeding, drunk, running traffic lights. Least of all "oh, I will be able to bribe an official if this happens".. Seriously, you think people run through a checklist of "what to do if crap happens" before they commit traffic offences?

The same attitudes can be found here within OUR society. I don't think it was ever mentioned explicitly if Mr Regan Lee or Ms Candy Siow were Singaporean (hence the assumption is that they are) but there is a long list of drunk/not-drunk Singaporean drivers who drove irresponsibly and caused the death of others. It doesn't matter where you come from, or what car you're driving, or whether you brag about it, or if you're rich. It's a stupid act and if everyone drives safely, accidents can and will be avoided for sure. Better late than never, better alive than inconvenienced.

At the end of the day, a tragedy is a tragedy. Someone beat a red light. Many people were killed. The lesson I take from this is that all this could have been avoided so easily if we all drove properly and responsibly. I don't drive in Singapore but it has further strengthened my resolution to do so safely (if I ever get a car) because lives are at stake whenever one person is on the road - it affects everyone else. This really shouldn't be about whether a certain nationality is irresponsible, brings their attitudes over, or whether rich people think they're above the law.

And I say: Shame on anyone who tries to use this to make political hay or prove their point about other things or push their own agenda.

Guys, the nationality of the driver or victims is not the issue here.

This unfortunate incident took away 3 lives and affected those of their loved ones forever. Let's be sensitive about this.

I have seen on many occasions delivery vans or lorries driven by PRC in a dangerous manner..also seen Malaysian registered cars speeding along BKE many times as i stay in Woodlands...BUT i have also seen Singaporeans speeding...not giving way...hogging...zigzagging...not signalling when turning or switching lanes...

3 lives lost during that accident...may the innocent ones RIP...

I have a friend. She was in the car with her finacee. Both in their late 20s.

Then the finacee complained feeling unwell - chest pain. He tried to pull to one side but before he could completely stop, he passed out. Car ran a curb and bang into a tree. When the ambulance came, the boy was declared death. Atopsy revealed he had a fatal heart attack. The girl was injured also but not serious. However, she was badly traumatized - they had been running around preparing for their wedding. It's been a while, I think she is ok now.

Sigh... that's life.

That case had diplomatic implications since a Romanian diplomat was involved. Unless the driver involved was also a diplomat... I don't see the link?

You may wish to note that this problem with diplomatic immunity is not limited to Singapore..

regardless of the nationality and brand of car, these type of drivers should die on the spot or better still become vegetables. It is a waste of time and money to settle such incident in court. At the end of the case these murderous drivers are free after paying a fine and or a short jail term that doesn't do justice to the victims and their families.

let's not speculate and incriminate him before the evidence is presented. for all you know, he might have a disorder that made him fall asleep at the wheel and step on the brakes. i've heard of that before, and it's a valid medical condition.

anyway, this type of case is common in Singapore. the only reason it's causing a hoo-hah this big is because

1) it's driven by a PRC
2) it's a ferrari

if it were any other case involving a local driver and local victim, it would have been quiet.
