Hi 7D users. A quick quiestion. If you shoot in M mode and set ISO to auto. What it the quickest way to change the exposure compensation? The 2 dails already used for aperture and shutter speed.
I can understand what you mean. It seems the 7D's Auto ISO feature is different from other cameras. On the 5D2, the Auto ISO seems to settle on an appropriate ISO then lets you change the exposure "compensation" by adjusting the aperture and shutter speeds. On the 7D, the Auto ISO seems to constantly adjust the ISO for a balanced exposure whenever you change the aperture or shutter speed thus effectively fixing the exposure and not letting you change the exposure "compensation". It continues to do this until it hits the Auto ISO limits at either ISO 100 or ISO 3200, after which further adjustment of the aperture and shutter speed will affect the exposure.

Shot yesterday ar? Aiyah din know u going Jurong Lake else will jio you. :confused: Wanted to give the 7D's AF a test run against BIF.

Just a couple questions:

1) How far away was the bird from you?

2) How was 7D tracking against busy background in AI Servo? (e.g trees, etc.)

3) Which AF mode did you use for this shot? (i.e single pt, AF pt expansion, zone AF)

4) EXIF info/setting used?

TIA!

Hi, I got my 7D from South Asia. Price is 2,500 all in.... GST, Master/Visa...

Alan Photo at SL offered my friend 2,488 with GST but cash..

I briefly tried out the 7D at Bally Photo Funan and it feels solid, and performance, AF is very speedy too. First impression is that when i look through the viewfinder, it's just a clear screen (unlike a focusing screen as with other DSLRs where u can see the AF points) and the grid only appears when the camera is turned on (this is due to the new transmissive LCD). The viewfinder is also quite significantly larger than those found on 40D/50D and is very bright too. The 100% viewfinder is great!

Price as found out for the 7D is $2590 for body only and $3080 with the 18-135 IS kit lens. All prices inclusive of GST. :)

Do they have stocks? Good price huh

4) EXIF info/setting used?

TIA!

* Exposure Time (1 / Shutter Speed) = 1/1250 second ===> 0.0008 second
* Lens F-Number / F-Stop = 56/10 ===> ƒ/5.6
* Exposure Program = shutter priority (4)
* ISO Speed Ratings = 400
* Original Date/Time = 2009:10:04 17:14:03
* Digitization Date/Time = 2009:10:04 17:14:03
Shutter Speed (Exposure Time) = 1/1327.96 second
* Aperture Value (APEX) = 327680/65536
Aperture = ƒ/5.66
* Exposure Bias (EV) = 1/3 ===> 0.33
* Metering Mode = pattern / multi-segment (5)
* Flash = Flash did not fire, compulsory flash mode
* Focal Length = 400/1 mm ===> 400 mm
* Exposure Mode = auto exposure (0)
* White Balance = auto (0)

would it be using the quick control dial to adjust the exposure compensation?

Cash prices are usually cheaper as compared to NETS. Credit card dun need to say lah. :D

Same here, all of them. :lovegrin:

Bundle the cash in envelope? I gave them in stacks of 50. The shop assistant have to take time to examine and calculate the amount. :sweat:

The other 2, slight handshake blur.

AF setting set to "fastest" (whatever that means).
