The 55-250 has IS; the 55-200 does not. And, what do you mean "does it work the same"? You need to understand focal length, then you will know what lens you need.
Wrong. Both are EF-S lenses.

Hi guy,
please kindly refer to page 109 for EF lens work III.
EF55-200mm f/4.5-5.6 II USM is for EF mount. :D
I do not think that there is any EFS 55-200mm.
Please kindly correct me if I am wrong.
thanks for your visit to this club thread also although u r not 450D user.

Hmm, this is my source:

Have a feeling that it is wrong information. Sorry about that. I just checked some other sites; a handful do state it as EF-S while there are some listing it at EF. :dunno:

No problem.
There are always wrong information from internet.
So, I always refer to the Canon website and reference book for more accurate references.
Please do share with us some useful tips here.

What do you mean by maintain the colour and brightness? What mode are you shooting on?

I always use manual mode instead of night mode or auto.

Ok for instance, If put the shutter speed to lets say 1/80, it will be too dark, and I set to 1/25 or 1/30, its bright and the picture wouldn't look nice.

Do you know that you can adjust the aperture also in M mode?
Try to adjust the aperture to be bigger [ie smaller number] or use higher ISO for fast shutter speed.
If you are not so sure about the camera settings, I would advise you to use the other mode besides M mode.
Besides, metering also does play a part for that.
Maybe you might need to visit this site for some useful tips.

Hi Hafiz, I start learning by using the "P" mode and take note of the shutter and aperture on the camera. Start with playing around the ISO and EV. Maybe you want to try that first. Do note, at night always if can use flash.

...

You can't just go about setting the shutter speed, aperture value and ISO to whichever values you like; metering is what you must pay attention to and what you need to understand.

Hi,

I own a 450D. When compared to the photos taken by my Nikon friends, the colours and tone on the Nikon seems to be richer...

I know we can use picture style to improve this but the picture style on the canon website does not really improve the richness across all colours..

How should I calibrate the camera to produce richer colours? Custom white balance?

Cheers,
Keith

Photoshop......

troublesome leh...

in fact, this is an issue with all canon cameras... Canon seems to make photos appear lighter and brigter and contrast is low, as compared to nikon. shooting at -0.3EV may help but not rich enough leh...

Its not troublesome... nikon have aggressive in camera PP.

As DSLR user, it is expected that some PP is needed to get what you want, else you can just go for an high end PnS. Most ppl have the mentality that pic taken from a DSLR always better den PnS but not truth though
