Welcome to CRXC. Nice photos u have there with a special mention to the fireworks. Guess u manage to have a good location huh. Able to share from where is the spot?

lol. funny u should say that. It wasnt a good spot! i got pushed back by umbrellas when the rain came down, hence the heads on the bottom, would have liked to have gotten the river in the shots as well. That's what you get for not going early i guess :bsmilie: Anyway I was near the NTUC building, around 1 raffles quay there's a big field.

I have not yet bought my dry cabinet and most likely will buy it by end of this month.
I am also interested to get myself a 430EXII for indoor shoot...
Try hard to avoid the BBB virus....;p

ya, i thinking of getting a flash unit too. most prob same as you. currently i'm using pop up flash with a puffer diffuser. helps abit however doesnot provide the lighting effect i want in indoor shoots.

eleveninth, may i ask what's your set up ? i guess u got a macro lens for insects uh.. your photos in flickr are great, i like the one you've used for your avatar =D

I'm also quite interested at his setup also.
Seem like eleveninth has L lens.
Mind to share?:)
His photos are excellent for macro & firework..

Thanks mrc0w, I actually used a 28 - 105mm with a raynox DCR250 attachment for those macro shots. I bought it from a thread here at $115 dollars, If im not wrong there are people selling it in the classifieds section if you're interested.

Thanks JP, i was using the 1740L for the fireworks, it was actually my first time taking fireworks. glad u like them :)

PS. This is the thread for the Raynox 250

I also own the DCR-250. Very highly recommended. Been using it with my 75-300mm and still loving it. Can able to get 1:1 from 100mm focal length. Will post some of my workz soon to share. Those planning to get it can order at ebay for $115. That's their only transaction way for now or call 6389-1734. Can view the product from the link below. cheers...

haha. yeah i experienced the same umbrella situation too. but i was at the esplanade area and it wasn't a gud spot. too near to the fireworkz. maybe next yr i'll go to ur spot...

eleveninth, i really like the photos you took. esp those macro shots with raynox. i own a 55-250 and raynox, however have not been successful with macro shots. haha.

for the fireworks i actually wanted to get to the ntuc side where you took your shot from, however every occasion i am unable to reach as there are road blocks everywhere. so troublesome.

hence my fireworks shots are from behind the esplanade bridge with fullerton to my right and esplanade to my left. @ least yours have nice backdrop, mine really cmi so i have no choice but to crop to portrait.

i'm a 450d user too. just got it in canon...lookig to build my inventory. i actually need a macro lens for some project. was eyeing canon 100mm f2.8 macro. is raynox a good substitute?so that i can use the money invest on a zoom lens?

hey, ppl here. tml is the start of Super Import Nights. who is going there tml?

i will be there definitely, if you see a guy abt 1.7m with small lowerpro cam bag, carrying 450d+bg e5 17-40L and a pop up flash diffuser, that should be me. haha.

gona go there to see how the pros shoot, and learn from them. lolx.

Thanks evil, i took mrt and walked so wasnt affected by road blocks ;p. I saw a thread where that person was alone at the other side of Marina bay. Quite nice also imo. As for the macro photos, i actually spent an hour chasing a butterfly around, Just keep shooting . Haven't gotten the time to go out and shoot somemore since then tho, work commitments.

raynox is good. definitely much more worth it than a macro lens. great substitute too. the big plus point is that it only cost 115. however be warned that it only works with 50mm and above. any shorter focal length, vignetting will occur.

ya, next time i go shoot fireworks i will head to marina barrage there. if not i will try tanjong rhu. i have seen pics shot from there and they are quite nice. i took the mrt too. during the preview i tried walking from mrt to ntuc building, halfway through the fireworks started le. lolx.

will you be going to the SIN starting tml? if you do please post your pics to flickr, would very much like to learn from you.

I'm actually eyeing the 100mm as well, price should have dropped by now. The raynox is good but nothing can beat a dedicated macro lens. I think, correct me if I'm wrong hehe :embrass:.

its very much dependable with good reviews too. but hey if $ is not an issue to you, go ahead with the 100mm f2.8...can check out some of DCR-250 users photos @ macro photo galleries.

Not sure if I'm going. I hate to squeeze around especially with me being so big, I'm sure it'll be packed. Comic convention was ruthless man people just push and shove for good space, SIN? with all those hot girls and cars. I'm thinking it'll be 10 times worst. I am tempted tho :bsmilie:.
