Arsenal Football Club - The Gunner's Thread 3

Finally! A win away at a "big team", plus a solid performance from the keeper as a bonus. :)

Only concern was the sometimes suspect positioning sense of Djourou....

Love the way Man City is being ripped apart.

Loads of help from the early red card.

But I think Boyata got the ball? No doubt there was contact with Chamakh.

Emphatic win, hope they carry the form to the next game as well. Have always believe in Fabianski, afterall he's a polish national keeper (or 2nd). Perhaps he just went through and passed a bad demoralizing patch...hopefully. :sweatsm:

To me, actually the Gunners can win if they want to. They have the players to do big things.
Is only inexperienced can be the problem in the squad. ;p

Another thing they win Man City is luck. Man City got a red card early in the 1st half.

yup, he got onto to wrong side of the attacker too many times during the 1st half.
on an overall, looks shaky to me.

quote from lagos in arsenal mania:
I really don't think Djorou's problem is rustiness, I just don't think he is an intelligent defender. I've noticed him commit really basic errors numerous times this season like continuously allow the opponent to turn on to their strong side...that's just criminal!

they were lucky to play with a one man down man city early in the game.
even one man down, can see that their defenders closed down the gap very quickly when arsenal players were lining up for a shot.
i feel there are moments where arsenal should have tested hart as much as possible instead of looking for clear gaps to take a shot.

nasri got the return pass from arshavin for the 1st goal, even arshavin has been accused of being lazy, leaving clichy to defend on his own most of the time but really can't fault him for the assist.
bendtner did what most couldn't, he found the target after being one on one with the keeper.

I hope Arsenal will sign Ibrahim Afellay in January. They need to add a different dimension to their attack.

Saw the Man City match on Sunday, and I was quite unimpressed by Arshavin's performance.
He was strolling on the field most of the time, hardly made any attack or defence.
His only contribution was the assist he gave to Nasri for the opening goal, but other than that he is basically a spectator.
Any idea what is his issue?

He was praised by some people for one incident where he tracked back and help Clichy defend, I think that showed how little workrate we have come to expect from him. :bsmilie:

Some players are like this. Usually strikers. They exist only for that one moment that makes the difference.

Putting Cesc on when we are 0-2 up in Carling Cup is certainly a big statement of intent! Never before has this happened! The only obstacle left to that trophy is ManU.

Alamak, Gibbs injured again.

alright! another hard earn victory. arsenal in control but robert green is in fine form today. luckily alex song in even better scoring form.

Just checking...Can any of you able to log in arsenal.com ? I can't access since yesterday. :dunno:.maybe the site is down
