Arsenal Football Club - The Gunner's Thread 3

I hate our rivals, but i cant help but feel abit worried. Van de Vaart and Bale have been scoring a lot lately.

Worst decision ever by a great manager Mr. Wenger. Sub out the most threatening player Nasir and kept Cesc who is below his best. Just why is he so stubborn zzzz

credit to spurs for beating arsenal in an attack-minded game.

blame cesc for his stupidity.

that penalty was costly.

The subs on the 75th min mark came too late...15mins...hard to make an impact, especially when spurs are counterattacking at every chance they have after Bale's goal.

Penalty was unfortunate, as Kosci (or was it Chamkh?) raised his arm to shield his face, Cesc hand was holding onto the rising arm.

Overall, its was a horrid 2nd half, they allowed spurs to get back into the game. Perhaps getting complacent after 2 goals up...they should have continued to press for the 3rd goal go for the massive kill, just before half time, instead they chill and start passing around. Afterall it's a derby game, there's no such thing as 2 goals up 'give u face', more goals up, a cushion, it's for the fans who pay to watch them. Bad bad 2nd half.

Wasted a good chance to sit on top as Chelsea drop points again. It will definitely be one of the highlights in the future when we flash back on history of this North London derby.

Last night's performance was as appalling as it was disappointing!
Threw away a 2 goal 1st half lead to allow Spurs to come back and win the game on our home ground. In my opinion, Fabregas was the main culprit as he literally 'handed' the penalty to Spurs when he raised his arm to block the free kick.
Overall the team got complacent in the 2nd half, they could not deal with Spurs counter attacking tactics and looked defensively frail when under pressure as usual.
It is not a performance worthy of a title challenger and as far as I am concerned, they are not going to win any trophies this season if they play like this.

Tale of two halves, Arsenal played effective football in the 1st, spuds switched places with us after their atrocious 1st half. Mystifying indeed...

I will still be red&white! No matter win, lose or draw!

For those who are participating in Arsenal Singapore's game or intending to go down to take photos of the match versus Newcastle fans, the game is cancelled (postponed) till further notice, due to the waterlogged pitch from the heavy rain this morning. :sweatsm:

Arsenal VS Barcelona (Knock-out stages of Champion's League) Last 16 :bsmilie:

Lets see how the Inconsistent play against the Super Consistent

No matter the results, will still wear red & white (and away yellows)...

Bit worried bout the draw though, judging on paper, very likely to get knocked out. If it does happen, maybe they could reflect on their performances, so its been a let down. Doesnt matter if they were at the top of the table, it was because the other teams performed badly and not us outperforming the others.

I worry for the coming match against Stoke as well, might just get suckerpunched by them. Although everywhere they are saying Stoke is gonna roll over and get whalloped by us.

Wenger is putting up a brave front but i think he must be feeling really disappointed that his team got Barcelona in the last 16. Looking at all the English teams i think Chelsea has the easiest draw and Arsenal the hardest. :(

stoke will park 8 man behind and be very physical, they play for 1 point only.....

 for a good result.
bloody well done for those who stood up and be counted!

I honestly felt that we would loose before the kick-off.
I am glad I am proven wrong, and I hope this is our turning point in the season.

It's a really good win for us. I'm not trying to take away any gloss on this victory, but it's seldom Chelsea made such mistakes (2 times for the 2 goals). Important thing was we managed to keep the composure and capitalized on it. Good Job.

One more thing : RVP kept falling down easily throughout the game. The ref just won't give anything to him. Hope he don't use this tactics too often and start showing his skills ;p

Finally! We beat Chelsea since November 2008! Let's hope we'll see more consistency from the gunners!

Congrates!

Somebody wanted the repeat of Boys vs Man n he gt it:
Finally the 'Boys' beaten the daylights out of the 'Man'!:bsmilie:

Now all we need now is to beat Man U ... Evra's stinging remarks about us over the last few years still leaves a bitter after-taste in my mouth ...

Defend! Consistency! Go Gunners!
