24-105mm will have issue at dim environment right? example like wedding or dinner events... cos i caught in a fix on what lens to buy for my walk around... should i go f2.8 categories?
At weddings and dinners, I'd use flash if allowed even if I have a faster lens. Get a 2.8 for the shallower DOF, brighter viewfinder image and more accurate AF, not just for faster shutter speed. If the ability to use a faster shutter is all you care about, get a 50mm f/1.4 or f/1.2. Unless you plan to get the guests in a wedding photo to stand in a straight line when you take their photo, the shallow DOF is going to work against you.
I find the 24-105mm to be a very useful range for my needs. When outdoors, it stays on my camera most of the time. It's long enough to be able to take photos of my kids without interfering with what they're doing. Sure, I often wish it is wider, but I would miss the longer end more (compared to, say, 17-55mm f/2.8 which would be my choice for indoors).
