What is your walk around lens?

Hi IMHO i think the best walk around/travel lens need to cover a good wide angle and a decent telephoto. The current standard zoom range is 18-200mm. However this remains debatable since ea h photographer has his own preference. For me though the best walk around/travel lens is not one but two - at least. Since I am using 1.6 FOVCF body i prefer to carry the 10-22mm and the 24-105mm L or the 24-40L and the 70-200mm f4 L if weight is allowable. I prefer 10-22 + 24-105 because it is a lighter set. Of I would also be carrying my gorillapod over ylmy tripod.

50 f1.2L + 5D => perfect combo :)

i'm a newbie. now my walkabout is 35mmf2.

was tammy 28-300mm awhile back
and tammy 17-35mm a longer while back.(still a diamond).
longer than that is a 50mmf1.8

My walkabout lens is basically my canon 24-105 and sigma 10-20. Now i am looking for those 18-200 lens for travels.

I only carry 2 lenses wherever I go. A 18-200 (or 18-270) and a 10-20 (or 10-22).
I love the flexibility of the super zoom. And I think they have not failed me even in term of sharpness.
And I like distortion from wide angle.

50mm f1.8 for walkbout
17-55mm f2.8 for back-up

50 KM f1.8............. so it will be a lot of walking back&fort during walkabout....:bsmilie::cool:

Wah, newbie already play with so many lens. Good
Some people like the 35 mm (equivalent to 50 mm on crop)
I only got 2 lenses - 17-50 f2.8 and 50mm f1.8

50 1.4 or 24-70 with my 5DmkII. More of the 50 1.4.

EFS 18-200mm for me.

NovJoe.
