all u need are:
1. 2 types of sand papers (coarse and fine)
2. paint
3. labour (maybe both of you can do over the w/e)

dunno abt the cost for the paint, but sand papers are cheap.
i think $100 is ok.

why not go get a tin of varnish and some sand paper and diy? should cost <$50 and will get your mind off your cherish.. :think:

get bangladeshi (can always find them below yr void deck cos they are the one that maintain yr neigbourhood vaccinity) to do the job. pay them like $50-100 for 2 labour and get it done in a day.

my friend hired bangladeshi to do the painting, all done in 1 day.
includes 1 layer of undercoat and then 2 layers of paints.
whole house (4A in amk).
$300 for 3 person. paint paid by my friend.
pretty good finishing.

best is they are money minded, pay partial when result not good (tell them in advance).
this is called play by their rule.
