Looks good enough for me..Probably wait till Dec then buy..

Thanks :)

Hi, can anyone advise if the vf-4 on the ep5 is flimsy. Currently deciding gx7 and ep5 on that impt factor. Or the vf4 size is just too alluring to care about that? Heheh

Flimsy no, but it's rather easy to flip it 90 degree when u put inside bag, which can be a problem if its hit externally. It has a small lock, so do ensure it's being locked before inserting inside bag.

The post here compares the 2 cameras in size. Sometimes I just hate the protruding VF4 and I dpn't bring it out, to think that I had been using VF2 for so long, the VF4 is just slightly bigger than VF2. & I think I'm pampered by GX7 design. But when I don't bring it out, I miss the VF4!

Isn't it good to have choices? That said, it's still best to try both and see which is better for you :)

Cheers

The VF4 is an amazing tool for Olympus MFT users. I almost not want to buy the E-M1 because of how the VF4 made the E-M5 feels like a new camera (I am buying the E-M1 for the ZD lenses).

It is not flimsy, as I had a few small knocks and bumps with it on my camera and it survived. I am not going to push that harder though. I think the joint is the weakest part of the VF. Just use with care, but not as if it will fall apart at the smallest knock.

Thanks for the answers! Just a last one, is the GX7's EVF in 4:3 aspect really significantly smaller and the refresh is worse than the VF4?

Purchase all of this last Fri. Price of E-P5 kit cannot disclose cos internal sales..

Now waiting for a Barton 1972 strap, Oly 17mm Lens hood then i take a proper shot..

Hi!

Nice setup. I have the same tripod, very impressed with it.
Is that the Billingham Hadley Small?
How do you think the EP5 with the EVF mounted fit if you use both dividers?

/Regards Evert

i only just noticed this... got trade-in (any camera brand any model any condition) promotion this month for olympus cameras (E-P5, E-PL6, OM-D)...

It's interesting that they state that the EP5 got the Gold award from Dpreview, when in fact it got the Silver award :)

Thanks..

Ya, the tripod is light and great to just bring it on a walk..

Yup, the hadley small. I only use 1 vertical divider, the smaller section is further partition into top and bottom with the bottom for my 45mm, top for remote and filter holder..

The E-P5 with the EVF4, 17mm + lens hood goes into the bigger partition sitting down on it's bottom.Still i have to tilt the evf..

With 2 vertical divider, you probably have to slot the cam side in..

bro, what remote and filter are you using?

I m a new owner of a E-P5 and one thing i absolutely love about the camera is the shutter sound. I mean wow! It sounds buttery smooth - mechanically buttery! :-)

Just remembering that sounds makes my mouth water..;-)

Prior to only trying the 12-40 on the EM-1, I was kinda apprehensive of using the 12-40 on the EP5 due to possible 'imbalance' and EP5's grip but so far so good , but be warned , you will definitely feel the slightly larger size against the 12-35.

Will just share a few random photos of what the 12-40's capable of in a while

Some samples of REALLY RANDOM photos from the 12-40 mounted on the EP5.

in short, I'm very very pleased with the potential. All are OOC JPEG and some cropped.
