I'm using Hadley Small. E-P5 with VF4 and 17mm/1.8 and it's lens hood stored without any issue but usually i will tilt the vf4 up slightly. I partition it such that i can still have a 45mm/1.8 with lenshood, Hitech GNDs+NDs and Holder, Hahnel remote ontop of it.

Morning gentlemen! It is Monday again!

I'm looking for a good quality nikon G to M4/3 adaptor (preferably c/w tripod mount considering the FX nikon lens is gigantic compare to little EP5). Anybody come across any good brand?

Thanks!

Hi there! I am new to this forum and do give me any feedbacks or your personal opinions. I am new to M4/3 as I currently own a Sony a55 camera. I am looking into getting a M4/3 camera as I find it to be light, slightly compact and still having interchangeable lens function. Have looked upon the Lumix, Fuji and Olympus and I am hesitant between on the Fuji and Olympus. I feel the EP5 to be quite a decent camera. But should I wait upon the release of the GX7?

Rayqual has with tripod mount, quite expensive but quality should be there(including focus to infinity), disclaimer: i have used cheap pnes from ebay before, and while they work, focus infinity was often a problem.

another brand to consider is metabones brand which is good, i had contax G and built is very good and focus infinity was ok. This doesn't have tripod mount i think

There's also another interesting speed booster from metabones worth considering which is "focal length reducer" and "improves MTF" and "increase maximum aperture" by 1 stop.

THere's also other brands like Kipon, RJ which are china made and pretty good quality from ebay, but not sure if there's tripod mount.

hope that helps

Personally I find that Fujis are not value for money in terms of specs as compared to its competitors. IQ wise very subjective. Some people swear by its colors. I personally find that you can get the same IQ or better with a cheaper Oly or Panny.

Don't just compare Oly and Panny cameras in terms of specs and price. Both brands produces 'different' IQ and colors. Its a matter of taste. I prefer oly cameras over panny because of its delicious vibrant (though a tad warm) colors, excellent IQ (a tad better than Panny in terms of sharpness), better low light performance, better noise reduction, more responsive touch screen, smaller and lighter lenses.

The EP5 is a beast. Get one now while waiting for the GX7. Compare the IQ and then decide which one you want to keep if you can only keep one.

EP5 just got awarded the 'Best Product' for Advanced Compact System Camera category in the EISA (European Imaging and Sound Association)

Finally got the leather skin for EP5, just feel like good old analog era.

Thank you very much for the recommendation! The speed booster is wow! but way to expensive, in another hand, the metabones fit my budget nicely.

Bro,can I get the leather from you

The leather skin looks nice. My only worry is that the edges will peel after a while

The glue (for Aki Asahi) is very strong and won't peel off easily. Only thing is that the skin area around the lugs will wear off due to the strap rubbing on it. But at least it protects your body.

Using the skin from Olympus...

Got it by using the $50 voucher which they gave me for a phone survey..

Erm, oly colours are warm? I did a direct comparison just a few weeks ago using a friend's em5 with my nikon and the em5's images were definitely cool (all on AWB). It was this reason that i abandoned my intention to get an ep5. I would lovve it if it was a "tad warm".

check if your friend had tweaked the WB settings. Oly has a menu function where you can choose to keep WB "Warm" or "Cool"

Oly colors are well known to be warmer compared to Panasonic for example.

comparing to nikon. JPEG or RAW? depends on how much saturation you add in JPEG mode. Personally i feel Nikon's WB is on the yellow side. Note not warm, but yellow. This is why i sold my D700 and went back to canon 4 years ago.

Yes, after i switched the setting to keep warm colours, it was a little better but not as warm/"yellow" as my Nikon.

Hi all, got myself a silver ep5 with a Panasonic 12-35f2.8. Very satisfied with it, time to ditch my dslr soon.... :)
Btw does the leather sticker leave sticky residue after being remove and any recommendation of bag for my bodies n both lens...
