well yes, it can be corrected by it will take up loads of time if you shoot quite a bit.

btw sharpness can also be USM (unless really bad), distortion can also be corrected.

However, USM will never compensate for a soft photo. There's only so much sharpening you can do.

Hi guys, I'm curious & planning to buy this lens on the near future is there anybody had to chance to try this lens...I'll be more satisfied if anyone have a chance to experience playing along with this lens and share the performance....thanks for sharing

looks like the main problem is the CA
so if you do not shoot stuff with high contrasts
then it is a good lens

shucks.. the CA seems to be quite a problem. was really looking forward to this lens.. shall keep waiting n prob get one after my As this year=P but i think on the up side the lens seems to be amazingly sharp... and they state that AF speed is very good. wonder if that will make it up for the CA. 16mm and tokina build quality is a big plus point too. the latter is the reason y im not considering either the simga or the tamron versions. so its either nikon or tokina. but apparently nikon suffers from some CA too. just have to wait and see i guess...if not i ll just end up getting a nice 28-70 from tokina.=)

dang, that's too much money, i was hoping that with its shortcomings and marketing strategy it'll be priced somewhere near the Sigma and Tamron fr2.8 versions... I hope they'll lower it down to 750ish or so...
