I also feel that. But its a bulky camera as compared with a compact. Jus afraid i wont wan to bring it out because its bulky. ( I have a 5mth old son so its quite lots of barang barang to bring along.. =P)
I do prefer the FZ18 and FZ28. And I almost forgot abt the video zoom function. Might seriously consider getting maybe one. DSLRs are out for me. I dislike bulk and prefer without the hassle of changing lens and stuff like that...
Meanwhile, keep u guys updated.... and thanks alot for all your advice!
Now I need to have a meeting with my Minister of Home Affairs... I believe I might be in for a nagging as I've overspent by a mile for these few months...

Skyguy, LX3 uses the same sensor as FZ28, technically speaking their noise levels should be exactly the same right? :dunno:
Thanks for the compliment ombre.
If you will look into my picasa gallery, I have taken some bokeh shots. It was a surprise to me actually, I was just trying out the manual focus.
LX3 vs FZ28, it's a tough call actually. I also leaned on getting the LX3 as it seems to be more popular and can take better night shots i suppose. But I felt that FZ28 is much better for me overall, as this is my first and only digicam. These are the advantages of FZ28 that I can think of:
1. Huge Zoom. You can actually be a paparazzi on this. You can take a picture of your neighbor on the next block. Great also for taking pictures of animals.
2. You can use the huge zoom on videos. Great when taking videos on concert, etc.
3. EVF will come in handy when taking pictures on a bright sunny day.
But i still like to have the LZ3 in the future. Maybe next year.. Perhaps there's already an LX4 by then.
even DSLR need tripod to do decent night shotsI think the reason why LX3 is popular is because a sharp 24mm wide angle lens at F2 is very very expensive on a DSLR. Somewhere in the thousands range.
Anyway do not be deceived by many of the night shots you see done by the LX3 forum, I bet you many were on tripod. =X

Yup, its definitely a wrong misconception.Yea, but I feel that many people mis-conceive that getting an LX3 allows you to do el-cheato night shots by simply pointing and shooting. Quite wrong.
Morning guys,
Everytime I see the pictures you guys post, I admire the quality.
Right now, I still am considering. Its coming to CNY so time is rather short. Most probably if I'm getting will be after CNY as I have lots of stuff to do right now.
Just 1 question, is there video zoom for FZ18 too?
