Gd evening everyone,

hmm.. thinking of buying UWA lens... any recommendation ?

I want the lens to be use in FX and DX body lei and when using in FX body it will not penalty the pixels size.

Correct me if I am wrong, Tamron and Tokina UWA are DX lens right...how about sigma 10-20 ?

Sigma one is FX..but i heard Sigma got quite a number with focussing issues..so better test the lense properly before buying..check with KT if u r not sure..so far i think he's producing pretty sharp images from his UWA...if got cash, just go straight for 14-24..no need to think liao..:devil:

Sigma 10-20 is DX so on full frame only usable from 15mm onwards if mount on FF. Only the Sigma 12-24 is FX compatible.

I have been using 10-20 for 1.5 years... my fav lens of all time. Dun think will be giving it up unless I go FF. But not an easy lens to start off coz distortion at 10-14mm are bad but work it nicely and u can get superb shots from it…One lens that I wont give up…

Buttie...Nikon 12-24 ish DX...Sigma 12-24 ish DG (=FX)...don't get confused...

When in doubt, hootz NIkon 14-24, consperm FX rens...:thumbsup:

Yup, what Tamron, Tokina have is DX for UWA. Only Sigma have both DX n FX lens. Sigma 10-20 is DX lens n 12-24 is FX lens.

If u r looking for DX, then either Sigma 10-20 or Tokina 11-16. Tokina has a constant f2.8 compare to Sigma. Best is Nikon 12-24 DX lens.

For FX lens, only Sigma has 12-24 UWA other than Nikon's 14-24. Sigma 12-24 biggest problem is the CA. Very obvious @ f4.5 to f11+-. In terms of focus n performance, so far so good. Sigma lens also prone to fungus.

If got extra bullet, go for Nikon 14-24 f2.8 constant. Alot better compare to Sigma in terms of build n quality. Only downside is the barrel distortion. Sigma handles this way better than Nikon.
