43. Ekshärad Farmhouse
The Ekshärad Farmhouse comes from the parish of Ekshärad in Värmland. This large farmhouse was built in the 1820s by the crown´s district legal officer Jan Olof Pallin and it served as the local court as well as the enlistment office of the Värmland Regiment.

I like the way you shoot the farmhouse with the autumn leaves in the foreground instead of just attempting a symmetry approach with it. Has a very pleasant feel to it.
Still remember sitting on the door steps for a rest with the gooses strolling around in front.![]()
I really love all these shots! Great job![]()
Thanks BrownBoots for dropping in and commenting. Don't remember seeing any geese when I was thereHow long were you in Stockholm? How is the cost of living compared to the other Scandinavian cities you visited?

Fika is a Swedish word that refers to coffee break. It is a popular past time of the locals and you often find them seated both inside and outside quaint cafes that line the streets. This picture is taken outside the cafes at Stortoget, or small public square, in Gamla Stan.

Gamla Stan has many narrow yet picturesque cobblestoned streets.

This picturesque path found alongside Strandvägen presents photo opportunities, especially with the yellowing autumn leaves.

This group of girls were taking photographs against the backdrop of Nordiska Museet, or simply the Nordic Museum, located on the island of Djurgården.
DanMan said:14. Ubiquitous Cyclists
Stockholm has a strong cycling culture. Cyclists are a common sight all over the city. In fact, bicycle rental shops are easily found. You will find people dressed in work clothes on bicycles. This picture was taken on a Monday morning, with people making their way to work.

Simply another B&W building shot. The building in the picture is the Radisson Blu Strand Hotel.

This spiral staircase is found in Hotel Nobis, the hotel I put up during my stay there. It is a boutique hotel and the interior is furnished with the famous scandinavian design.
DanMan said:24. Gallery
This photo was taken at Fotografiska Museet, a photo gallery located in the island of Sodermalm, walking distance from Gamla Stan. The effect in the photo is as it is i.e. not post processed. I exposed for spotlight shining on the photographs and waited for someone to view them. They have exhibits that will never make it to Singapore due to.. ahem... mature content. Do you think this photo will look better in B&W?

This is a member of the Royal Guard stationed outside the Stockholm Royal Palace. The guards are actually part of the Swedish armed forces. You can witness the change of guards that takes place daily.
