i think the suspension was called for.

wont be surprised if we dont see her around anymore.

high handed? most people say i am too soft already...

btw, i got some 5 cents coin i wanna dispose, open your mouth...

but with all the brickbats she's getting from folks here, to re-instate her membership after an apology seems like 'arm twisting' tactic. :nono:

for 5 cents u want me to open mouth, like this? ----> :ipuke:

not after brickbats flying in her direction for posting a thread on suggestion. :bsmilie: did those who throw brickbats get suspension?

... it'll be a different kind of welcome (with bricks flying). :bsmilie:

wow away from clubsnap and so many things happening.

Seriously i don't see the discussion on the need for the code instead it has become more of supply and demand issue. Are we going side track?

Ok maybe i'm wrong, but please listen to what i have to say. The need for this code may not always be the best solution, why? it's always this saying, "it takes two hand to clap". you don't like the rule you leave and maybe later set some rules of your own or maybe no rules and ppl start joining you, and then trouble blew or maybe not, nobody knows.:dunno:

So it just goes all the way back to the individual, be it the model, photographer and so on. You just have to know what you are doing and what is your rights.

What maybe can be done is that to educate these new models and photographer what are the do's and dont's, example: photographer should not touch the models during these lingerine shot :devil:and likewise for the model to know that the photographer should not touch them. :eek:to avoid problems. But off course no hard and fast rules(just suggestion)

Maybe this such information on do's and don'ts can be posted on some where and the rest is up to the indivduals (can't control their actions),

We can't expexct the admin team to be looking out for us. Why? because we are not paying them and salary. So don't go round expecting the admin team to the babysitting the whole forum.:nono:

Ok that's all i have to say. have to go now to keep my little baby girl company

That was in factmy pint I was trying to get to her. If there were ever such a code of conduct to be deployed, we cannot expect the Mods to do so as their powers to control are limited is the aspect of what is being posted and not what goes on outside of the forum.

To think that I actually commended her on another thread about coming up with a comprehensive guidelines for models. *slap forehead*

Haiz what to do? She was asking for it in any case.

actually considering what has happened i'd say suspension or expulsion was too good for her. She still owes the mods here a VERY PUBLIC apology. I sincerely hope that legal recourses are being considered.

AverRal, AverRal, why didn't you listen to me when I sent you a PM? Not to respond and step on anymore tails....*shakes head and sighs*

To all,
I haven't read all the comments of AveRal and the rest of you in this thread and the previous...way too much, but here are my two cents worth anyway from the gist that I got from the whole thing.

A couple of :thumbsup:points from here in the sense that in photography, one should always strive to better themselves. She says she cares about the girls. She talks about professional photograpers/a mentor as standby, the sleeze of organized shoots, etc. In a way, I do agree on that point and I have been pretty vocal about it in the past. To defend her a little, I think that it is always good to have "idealist" around. What would the world be without them? Though I have to say AveRRal (assuming you are still able to read forum posts in guest mode or maybe you have signed up as a new member using another email address), you always talk about not gong OT, yet you do it too..have you noticed?

I do agree with her in the sense that there are a lot of "sleezey" photos on clubsnap. No offense. HOWEVER, models (gals) ain't suppose to be idiots. The job of moderators are to monitor and delete posts they deem damaging because they have someone to answer too (be it the law, government, webmasters, etc). The job of models ain't just to pose and be silly about accepting shooting with any guy with a camera with or without cash (i.e. paid shoots). It is their job to "research" on the said photographer. What sort of portfolio he has? Is he just learning? What are the photos for? will they be sold or for personal portfolio? Meet up with photographers before agreeing to shoot to see whether you are comfortable with them, etc. To read up on what model releases are and what rights does that give the photographer to do. Before signing anything, to discuss whether permission is require before posting of the photos online...i.e. What are your rights? Nobody says that you have to work with all photographers that come your way. One has the OPTION of REJECTING the potential shoot. I personally have done a lot of that.

I have also noticed that the said models on Clubsnap ain't overly concern either. i have written several precautionary notes, advise to models both on PM and in the "Gentler Gender" thread and have noticed views are relatively low. Why? Maybe because they're too young and don't understand the harm that comes to them? Maybe they don't really care? Maybe they're just after the money, etc. Whatever the reason, it's their job to know what they are getting themselves into. It is their choice to ignore it if they so choose to. if they search enough, there are several several posts from photographers and models alike advising them what research to do? How to keep themselves safe, how much to charge? One can even PM the models on the photographer portfolio if you recognize any of them and ask for testimonials.

Let's not forget that people make up society and NOT society that makes the individuals. At the end of the day, opinions/comments are just that, whether they take it on board is their own business. It is up to the individual to watch out and educate herself. It is hard work...nobody said it was easy.

My 2 cents from a fellow model. Lets take responsibility back for ourselves, rather than leave it to others.

Warmest Regards,
Eadon

Moderators who have AverRal on their MSN, please ask her to add me if she wants.......

Edited:
Wanted to add one more thing...AverRal's photos ain't fantastic either, so I won't really consider all her opinions/comments on face value. She hasn't that that much experience in their industry considering the work she has done. Very average.

seems that u have a better head on your shoulders and are more open to discuss sans chip on your shoulder.

There might be a possibility for that. Given the fact that this is afterall a public forum, so any forms of slander and defamation might be given that legal recourse, that is if the mods want it. The problem is if we were to fight for a class action, who are we fighting against. If Averral as an individual, that might not happen. But supposedly an organisation such as SPH writes something about the mods that borders on slander and defamation, then it may be plausible.

On the other hand, I do not recommend that course of action. It is too drastic. Rather suspend her acct indefinitely till she apologises

that's not constructive though coz as someone pointed out earlier its just strong arming an apology out of her and that's pretty much meaningless.

is there a good reason to demand a VERY PUBLIC apology on the Mods behalf?

a chip on his shoulder perhaps? looks like there's more than meets the eye...

Well...yeah agreed that we will probably wait till the cows come home before we get one.

But hey...better than being in headline news: Forum charges model on allegations of slander and defamation. "I reserve the right to my views and I am exploited. This is a conspiracy".

By and large, any lawsuit is going to be painful to proof. Esp in this case. Not that I am standing on her side, but at best she will be let off with a warning in the court of law.

Since that episode is over, for now. Let us work on improvements.

aiya if u look at what happened she asked for it by losing her temper and calling this place mini geylang and implying that the mods are pimps. that's defamation right there. she needs to be shown that actions have consequences. besides she's also made alot of comments generalizing that all photogs are interested in a flesh show and i for one felt insulted she lumped everyone together so broadly. besides there's also the matter of her constant self contradictions too.

but we dun have to band together like villagers to stone a wrongdoer just click the triangle icon to report bad post. that i trust & hope the Mods will act accordingly.

dun 1 2 be seen, percieved as a hothead, dun join the mob mah. ;)

but i like sticking pitch forks up someone's butt. gives me a warm pricky feeling :bsmilie:

Guys, seriously, who got the time for any legal recourse?

Damages are done, if going thru a legal recourse can undo damages, then good, else, it'll just add more scars than covering them, and its akin to salt to injury... esp when there are so many bystanders just waiting to see a show at the expense of others.

I just hope Averral to grow up and admit to her mistake, but if she stands by her words, i'd also respect her, cos she stands by her words and not easily suayed, so perhaps i shall applaud to her convictions. But nevertheless, we still hold the rights for further action.

Lets keep to the topic...

and btw, Eadon, thanks for sharing your comments, esp from the model's point of view.
