In my view, having the legal guardian present is akin to having a female nurse present when a male doctor examines a patient. There is nothing to do with the law in this case, but simple common sense to protect oneself - it is an evidential safeguard.

Sometimes when one does not fully understand the law, they tend to read other people's comments, do bad research until the whole mass of information becomes a muddled mess in one's head. They then proceed to muddle issues or views present in a certain situation and misapply them to other situations. Such is indeed a sad case.

No offense but I have serious doubts about your intentions and motive for coming here.

First off, 27posts, of which these are largely focused on this area.

Second, upon registration to become a member, you would have noticed that there was a services offered subforum, but yet you chose to advertise your services here among your first few posts. Why is that so?

Next, you had stated that you saw CS name in the newspaper, yet you are asking what has our questions got to do with reporters and in the process get a little defensive? I find that hard to believe.

You had stated first that the photographers were experienced. After which you said that the photographer was a female. So were there a group of photographers and were they all female? You said that the picture was an for an event coming up. Which and what event requires you to do such a shoot? This is a question that if you do not want to answer is fine by me as it is a mere musing because as far as I know, whoever is holding such an event, will and should know the implications if word like this gets out.

People here had already asked you to take it to the services thread very early on, but yet you still seem to be hanging around here...why?

I do not need for you to proof to me anything by linking your post to your blog or site or whatever. It's just that with whatever you have said, I find it dubious in so far as what you have been saying is concerned.

I may be paranoid, but I think that by coming in on this thread, and with what you have said, my suspicions are raised as far as your postings go.

As far as Vince's point goes, let me add to this further. In the context of legal guardian, there are two distinct situations which come to mind when it is highly necessary. 1) is where a minor is concerned and 2) when a person is not in a sound mind to make a logical decision.

In this case given any person who is a minor in the context of SG law, should the person be deemed to be exposed or are about to be exposed to situation whereby he/she can be comprised either physically or mentally, a legal guardian must be present to supervise. As in the case of the US, this is why their movies have so many ratings like PG-13, PG this PG that. In SG, the lines are a little blurred. PG in this case is a guide, with advisory on the side, ONLY FOR MOVIES CLASSIFICATION. In SG, the law is straight and clear cut. Try anything funny with a minor or a young person, even with a consent, you cannot claim ignorance. The rottan will be there. If anyone can verify the point about young persons and minors, please do. I stand to be corrected in this case.

Been 2 decades since the initiation of Courtesy Campaigne... remembering the "Singa Lion" and the song that goes like this ".. courtesy is for free.. courtesy is for you and me..."

The intention was great in beefing up the image of Singaporeans... I leave the gauge of success to your judgement.. however, the campaigne was rooted into diverse channels and not merely just in the schools.. the country spent huge resources but the result is just NOT that prominent. I am not sure that we had even attained any result... I could be wrong...

I just want to thank the TS for the suggestions.. and hope that you have the steam to further the materializing of your ideals. Anything else i have is just a wet blanket. But i must re-iterate.. the country with the best education system has got their criminals... if you want to convince a result.. you can only show the improvement of the grades but never the total eradication of the bads, uglies and sick.

Keep your spirit up and brace yourself to work for the better of the people (as you have suggested)... and mend any accidental trespassing so far (the aspect of apology to the mods)... CHeerios!
