Yes, even OFF posn, if depressed the batt will b drained. This looks like an inherent design issue. Have to b careful when placing in bag. But w the protrusion of a evf mounted, it shld not happen since the evf is higher than the soft button release.

Super weird. Haiz

Its good to do occasionally !! :)

Sony needs to put the Focus Peaking without magnification where it was on the NEX system.

Yes I encountered this issue before. So I tried taking out my battery if I fit my camera in the bag for Long time. But I have lost my soft button twice now. Not going to get more..problem solved. :)

So its the soft button that causes the drain????

it's not the soft release button giving the prob

rather, it is that the rx1 when fittted with the soft release button, when placed inside a bag, it is easier for the other items inside the bag to depress the shutter release button with the soft release fitted on. the depressed button drains the batt.

if your bag is full of contents, even without the soft release button and the shutter button is depressed, the same batt drain will happen

i put my cam sitting straight up inside the bag without any above, and compartment it, putting all other stuffs in the other pockets. so far no issue, since no item can possibly depress the shutter release button with a soft release.

it's how u manage the placing of the cam inside the bag.

The rx1 w the rx100 suits well for traveling as they compliment each other!

With the evf on, anyone found a way to switch off the lcd? I know its auto switch between the two but I want it to be off all the time with the evf attached as I dont need it and so as not to waste battery.....

Go to menu look for lcd/finder and switch to manual.

Exit and press the small button beside evf to toggle to evf only. Evf only come on and off while lcd remains off
