Then watz d advantage of removing d AA filter in RX1-R??

Not sure about you guys but as a current RX1 owner, I am happy if these rumours are true (whether it is just an RX1 in red colour or an RX1 with AA filter removed) because that means don't need to spend money to upgrade.

IMHO, I feel that the RX1 is still very new and shouldn't have a replacement so soon. At least in my limited knowledge, I don't recall a FF model of any brands being updated in such a short period (slightly more than 6 months) before.

Cheaper to produce and can sell for more. That's the advantage to Sony! :)

Exactly !!

And Im happy with my RX1 ( and my D800.. ) ;)

Anybody know where can I buy shutter release cable for this?

i meant any shop in singapore where i can manhandle first... lol

Edit: Bought one at TK foto for $12.

how long is service support for RX1 if the electronic component(s) gives up one day? would be a waste if can't be repaired, rendering the lens useless...

By the time that happens there's probably a few new full frame RX for you to buy :)

Since the build quality is good, I'm guessing it can last 20 to 30 years at least but it'll be a waste of lens if the electronics have failed...

Your love for it will fail before it fails.... by 20 years time, you take 240mpx photos using camera blended in a disposable lens worn inside your eye... possibly!

I would consider excellent value if that camera could be used well for 5 years. No need 10-20 years. My longest serving camera was 3-4 years. It's price dropped to abt 10-20% of original price when I sold it and was still working but damn slow compared to what was current state of the art then. The buyer bought it for his kids to use and throw around. Most cameras now worth abt 50% of price, on bns, after 1-2 years if you are lucky. 20-30 years is horizon that is way too long and unrealistic in this day and age when technology is movin so fast.

To make the best use of your money I suppose is to buy a camera and use it until it dies. Like I say if it can last 5 years it's prob excellent. At that time, most people will feel that the camera is vintage. Or try to buy and sell it within one year. At least there is value when u sell it. Of course it helps by about 10-15% if you are not an early adopter.
