Hmm...Great stuff up the sleeves..

18-250mm?....another tamron manufactured lens....Well..time to save up.
I guess the large penta-prism is needed for Full frame.
from the look, that's really proto prototype to me, it seem like the (Nikon D3) rumoured 1.1x crop sensor or full size sensor, from the look, it's heavy and expensive. But large viewfinder is shiok, but without wireless flash??? Or through other way?

The not sure high end one seem to come with a VG also. But all with one top dial and on top LED??? Prefer to have 2 dials.

Wonder I can save enough money to get one next year

Its a FUGLY... :bsmilie:
I think that's not final yet, especially the 9 series look alike look quite RAW to me, the dial don't come with much symbol unlike the 7 series look alike, think there will be a long wait before it show up....

Some spot the "Drive" button on top of the camera, does that mean it will provide a high FPS;p

Drive? might as well put the word Overide... hahaha...

Think just put a microfone in front and be the 1st DSLR to do video... :bsmilie:

I wish this were so. :) FF with SSS will be a dream fulfilled. ISO 50-3200 (6400 with boost) should not be unreasonable with FF. I believe Sony will throw in GPS into the Pro body.

The top lcd panel comes from the Dynax 9 design. It also only has a single knob on the left. FYI, in case someone wants to know. ;)

I always hear complains that my Dynax 5D/7D makes a din with it's shutter. A100 same experience. Hopefully they will incorporate SSS into the Pro body----Super Silent Shutter!

aiyah drive is just single/continuous/2-sec/10-sec/bracket right?

u want 60fps ah? :what:

ok, so the wb and iso buttons are back. what's that last button ah?

eh the sound must be like tis...

psst....psst... psst.... (machiam the blow top valve inside the car, but softer) :bsmilie:

aiyah. to be honest, i'm fine with the outside. it looks like most of the important stuff can be done with dedicated buttons, many of the dials and switches are back too. i don't think i'll miss the EC knob too much, since i prefer to change it with the rear dial anyway. it'd be nice to have an FEC button somewhere though.

hopefully the PASM knob will have the 3 programmeable settings as well.

anyway in the end, what's most important is what's inside... results from the s5pro sensor like super good liddat, clean iso, good DR, great colours. let's hope sony steps up to the bat.

Yes, I agree. Sensors do make or break a camera. I also require the camera to make me enjoy the whole shooting experience. Having more knobs, dials and buttons make me feel in control. But I wounldn't mind voice activation as well. Imagine voice activated shutter release or to change ISO...:bsmilie:

"ISO 400" :bsmilie:

Wah...demanding customer leh. :bsmilie: :bsmilie: :bsmilie:

Hmm… you can spot that huge pentaprism thingy from miles away, if you see one on the street. Kind of retro…

Hope there will be a major improvement to the AF system especially in the AF-C mode. Otherwise, I’m quite happy with my A100 given the little time I have in this hobby.

Nevertheless, good to see the commitments from Sony.

the SONY word even more fugly

Sony

Big news on the Sony stand is the announcement of two additions to the Alpha digital SLR range, though details are sketchy, to say the least. There are a couple of mock-up models on show, behind glass, but we're told that these are far from being close to final production designs. The two SLRs announced today are a high end amateur model that will sit above the A100 in the range (it is not a replacement for the current camera) and a professional body. Our contact at Sony couldn't give us any more detail on spec, timing or pricing, though they did confirm that only the first (the high end amateur model) will arrive this year (we're expecting to hear more in the fall). Both cameras will have new sensors (with Super Steady Shot stabilization) and enhanced Bionz processors.
Sony also showed a very rough lens roadmap with 8 new concept lenses (zoom and fixed focal length), with at least five due to be announced before the end of 2007. The only detailed spec we could get out of Sony was on the three lenses they expect to launch firstl 24-70mm F2.8, 70-300mm F4.5-5.6 and a DT 18-250mm F3.5-6.3. We were told that all these lenses have been designed and developed by Sony (in other words they are not based on Konica Minolta designs).

5-8 new lenses this year, wonder what is the big white lens. It's bigger than 300mm f/2.8, but smaller than 600mm f/4. New 400mm???
