it is not only large but about 2kg in weightDawson, out of curiosity, may I ask you a question - is there any reason why you chose to handhold rather than using a monopod or a tripod as this Sigma 150-500 is still quite large a lens?
I m thinking to get one of this bad boy or girl, isn't it to heavy to be used as handheld?
Any shop to recommend, i have already contacted TK just trying to compare. Trying John 3:16 every time no one pick up the phone.
Could be this weekend i will have this and will head to bird parkI've seen someone using this lens handheld for quite long.
I guess the vibration resistance is really good.
Here's my take at Zoo, all shots handheld at 500mm.

These shots were on my trusted D80, i have tried my lens on my colleague D700 today.
With higher ISO such as 6400, I can safely go on faster shutter even on low light conditions.
My next body upgrade...so it will be.
Hi, for the leopard picture, was the OS (optical stabliser) on or off? And what was the shutter speed? Thanks in advance.![]()
Thanks bro, BTW nice shoots.limwhow: i had my tri and monopod with me. I wanted to get familiar with Sigma OS, as mentioned by some guys, it will take a second or 2 to activate. And it is true.
commonjunks: you only need to hold it less than a minute to take the shots you want.
Sighn1982 : OS was on and set to mode 1.
Oops paiseh, after going through the exif i will correct what i said earlier. "all shots are @500mm". :embrass: Cheetah @290mm ISO 400mm, F8, 1/200, EV0. Pony @150mm ISO 400, F8, EV-1/3, 1/20. And yes pony is at 1/20, i stepped back a lot to get 150mm in focus.
cheers![]()
