Today just got mine as-well.
Did a comparison between my 50mm Nikor and 500mm Sigma (no comparison but just to show the capability of 500mm Sigma), pictures are re-sized but not cropped.
pictures removed

This Saturday will go to Lakeside for some testing :D.

Hi,

Would you mind sharing if the 3 pics were shot wide-open, @500mm?

Cheers.

A newbie to photography and got my 500D with the Sigma 150 500mm. Does anyone know where I can get an online instruction manual on this lens.....didn't come with one when I got the len so need help on some of the functions.....Thank you

Just bought the lens, it really weighs a ton, feels good and picture are very sharp:heart:

There's this "clark" sound every few seconds when the camera is power up and in auto mode....is this normal?

Now need to buy tripod to support this lens....any good recommendation? Realised those freebies nikon tripod that came with my camera purchase is damn wobberly.

Cheers

sorry guyz.. I need to OT a bit, anyone make any comparison between this lens and new APO 120-400mm F4.5-5.6 OS DG HSM ?

Am thinking of selling my 150-500mm, less than 2 weeks old. It is very sharp but the range is too far for my intended usage:(. Wanted to shoot indoor concert hall. Thinking of changing to Canon 70-200 IS USM 2.8.:bsmilie:

So, just a feeler....anyone interested to take over...pls pm me. Thanks

You can post in Classified section ;).
I already sold mine with a lose of 400$ (only a month old), was running after prime.

Hi bro,

Can you give me the contact in HK? Tks.

Bill

Hello guys, I just got this Sigma 150-500mm (Nikon Mount) sitting infront of me.
Bought it from Tin Cheung (HK) at $1301 include shipment (FedEx 1-3 days service).

Ordered lens on 6th July and arrived today on 8th at 930am.

Surprisingly no GST (may be becoz I indicated as GIFT)

I safe $350 as Singapore will cost $1650.

:D:thumbsup:

Hi

I'm planning to buy this lens later this year. As it will be my most expensive lens, I would like to know from the owners of this BIGMOS, are there any BIG negative points that I ought to know before i splurge on it.

And I read that to get sharp shots from this lens, its better not to half press the shutter before fully depressing it. Just fully press down at 1 go, is that correct?

Thanks!

That's the optical stabilizer at work. Turn it off and you won't hear the sound.

Heavy, and a bit ungainly. Otherwise, very good! the 50-500mm may be heavier but easier to handle though.
