Think the price has dropped somewhat. Last check at Tin Cheung selling for about $1200 including shipping.

I'm planning to buy this lens..
just one quetion.. do I need to calibrate Sigma 150-500mm for Nikon?

What's the current market price for a local (SG) set at which retailer?

I'd like to get an indicative price. Seems like the price guide is missing this lens.

Those of you who purchased this lens, did you consider the Canon 100-400L too? I've read many reports which say they are quite similar in PQ, but above 400mm, the Sigma starts to get soft, unless stopped down to f8. How do you guys like your lens?

If you had to option to choose between these 2 lenses, would you stick with the Sigma and the longer reach, or do you prefer the Canon and the better PQ?

Look for the list of usual recommended shops and pick up your phone and start calling them.Don't expect people to spoonfeed you...

I found it on another thread...but then you do realise that I am not residing in SG, so that would be an international call.

This should be my next lens. Into birding recently and I think this is the next best lens in regards to $$$$. Will get it once the shop is open after CNY.

2 questions-

Will my Digi-Cabi, 30l, able to swollen 1 more lens like this? Almost full now. Got the measurement, seems like this lens need to be standing in order to go in or place it across the cabinet laying down, right?

Since this lens is 2 yrs old, any idea when or the cycle for Bigma to introduce new/upgraded lens?

Thanks for any input. n a Happy Lunar New Year, fellows BIGMAMA!!!

@notsoclever If you wish to risk your warranty for a $400 discount, go to DD-electronics. $1201 -2% cash payment is a steal for this lens.

Yes, if you pay cash, you get 2% off the price indicated in their website.

You can order online first then call them to check for stock or vice versa. Even, if they accepted your order online, there is no guarantee that there would be stock.

It's best not to walk in, at least give them a call to check for stock first.

The length of this lens is about a 70-200 f2.8 with hood ATTACHED.And my 70-200 f2.8 with hood REVERSED fits just nice lying down in my 30L dry cab.So i think the smallest dry cab should be a 50L?

Yes, a 30L drycabi can swallow a BIGMA with hoods reversed both standing up and lying down diagonally... but it's tight really... get a 50L should suffice...

I bought this sigma 150-500mm lens 2 years ago. Tried a few shots, did not like it and sold it within a week. I realised it hunts a lot, & the view in the viewfinder 'jumps' when u set it to 500mm. I prefer the nikkor 70-200mm coupled with the TC20. much faster, sharper n does not hunt.

This is just my personal opinion

Hi

I've asked almost the same question b4 I bought my Bigmos. But mine is a 50 litres Digi Cabi.
I can still push the Bigmos inner and then i can place the EPL1 and D90 with a 35mm f1.8 lens mounted on the same tray.

Thanks people for e replies.

Guess its best to call DD first before going down. Awaiting for Monday to come.

I own 70-200 f/2.8 n with TC1.4 I still can't get e range I needed. Not intending to get TC2 as its a 2 full stops down.

My Nikon 70-200 fix nicely into my 30l straight laying down with hood reverse. And I did find out tat 150-500 is longer and as bro Cleonbus mentioned its 70-200 with hood on, tat 150-500. Now i can at least figure out how to place all my lenses n camera body.

Hope still can go in with e rest of my lens or else I need to do some 'sawing'

Knew about e hunting but heard its only in low light n at 500 its become soft. Pray that i get a sharp copy. ;)

im getting this soon ( ̄∇ ̄ )
