Was in the Zoo for trial run, cloudy overcast day. ISO is around 1250-1600 and resized from JPEG.

Before I went for the trial run did some test at home and notice I have to fine tune AF to -10 in my D700. Have anyone experience same issue:dunno: or shold I go to see Sigma CSC.

Hi, before you tweak the AF fine tune, I would like you to try the following;
1/125th f6.3 OS on D700 auto iso max 6400
1/160th f6.3 OS on D700 auto iso max 6400
1/250th f6.3 OS on D700 auto iso max 6400

All without tripod. Burst three shots for each setting to test. :) Happy testing! Let me know what your results are like please. :)

Cheers

Hi Mendis did a burst of 3 shots like u were mentioning at 1/100 1/125 1/160 all with OS, 500mm ISO6400 and handheld in my living room -no flash

The OS performed well. auto focus is working fine from my point of view. all 3 sets the sharpest pic is the last one of each series of test shots. i.e. at 1/100 last pic from 3 burst is sharpest.

All at 100% crop

Hi guys,
Thought I would just let you know that this lens does NOT autofocus with either of Sigma's APO Teleconvertors. If you wish to use a teleconvertor buy Kenko.

My try with the lens.....sorry for the amature newbie pics. Pls advice how to improve, thanks.

All handheld with OS.

F5.3 ? Is there a typo error, roughly which focal length you were at?

Wow, results look great ......Can consider ;p

To 150-500mm lens owners.

How big are your dry cabinets?

Just wondering, cause if one were to buy this lens, sure must upgrade the dry cabinet...

These shots were on my trusted D80, i have tried my lens on my colleague D700 today.
With higher ISO such as 6400, I can safely go on faster shutter even on low light conditions.
My next body upgrade...so it will be.
