I am getting into Shanghai tomorrow evening. Just got back for a week to recharge after a 3 weeks stay for Nepcon in ChaoBao road. Avoid the expo for first week. I was there during the opening trail, there were several cork ups but I won't blame them:

It will be super crowded. I heard the price for food is ridiculous, more than RMB200 each person. Be prepared and not loose temper.
When landed in Pudong, if you do not have local contacts for taxi, its best to take Maglev by walking to the middle 'walking lane' which is the structure between the two terminals. Meglav only has one end station. Metro Line 2 (ER XIAN) is super crowded, you need some coins to get tickets. Why not just take a Taxi to hotel. Be aware that the local taxi driver may take you go round and round when they know you are a first timer. Just insist in a receipt and tell him/her you want a receipt before hand. Not being nasty but to play safe.
If you need a taxi contact, PM me. The charge to SuZhou is about RMB230, there about for the Shanghai Jiang Xu area
Their train DONG CHE (second class ticket) is about RMB25-30 but you need to book in advance during this VERY TIGHT period.
Some guys already posted pictures:

要想好好看世博会,预备需要好几天的时间,而且还要考虑体力消耗,否则第一天逛过后第二会有疲劳过度的反应。以后就不会再想看了。
Have a good trip!!
p.s.
1. I brought a whole case of equipment, but ended up only with a D60 BG with the standard 18-55 kit lens. It will be a test of leg power moving around with our Chinese friends.
2. Security is very 'tight' and can be pretty frustrating. Even the metro they will want to check your bag etc. Bring your travel documents with you, as they will check your ID all the time.
