SGTrekker 8D7N Wonders of Egypt Photography Tour (28 Aug-04 Sep 2011)

Here is a shot by SereneXMM. A record shot of that moment after we crossed the road and started shooting. Again.

[Nah... Mr Kopi-Kao. No excuse not to post your shots already hor... LOL...!]

My own sunset shots all cannot make it.
So I will wait for you guys to share yours.
I only tell story mah... so record shots I have aplenty.
The sun dropped very quickly. And soon we were on our way again...

As SereneXMM watched, the sun got caught between the pylons/towers holding the high tension power cables.
Here is my humble shot. Not too good. But just shoot only.

Day 3: Finally. Arriving at Aswan.

Ok. We finally made it back to Aswan. It was almost 9pm when we arrived at our Marhaba Hotel.
Here is a record shot by SereneXMM.
The lovely.... Marhaba.

Checking in. Another record shot by SereneXMM.
We were all pretty tired and in desperate need of a shower and a change by then.

Hey, what about dinner...?

Erm... but that's not the end of the story. Yes, we needed dinner.
We still had to fill our hungry stomachs after such a long day. Yupe. We did shower and have a change.
Then we fell in again, to go for dinner.

Where? Surprised surprised... Where else but McDonald's! Egyptian-style, of course!
Here, the Pharaoh Acpical inspecting his subject's McDonald restaurant which over-looked the River Nile.
Opposite where we dined was a spectacularly-lit ancient Mastaba (tomb) in a sort of a small islet.
I must admit that I was impressed by the modern-ness with which this whole set up was done.

We ordered quite a few burgers that we could never get back home in Singapore.
6133677498_37b7736743_b.jpg

Yah... so Pharaoh Acpical, what have you got to say about the chilli service?
No? Nothing to say? Why, the Pharaoh must have been suffering from the excruciating pain his Egyptian sun-burn has given him over his right arm so much that all he needed was plenty of food, and sleep! LOL...

Unknown to me, while I was shooting photos of our team mates ordering at McDonald's, Serene was shooting that handsome Egyptian man who was serving us our dinner! What is the problem with these Egyptian men? Every where we go we seem to be bumping into good-looking Egyptian men! Of course not to mention beautiful Egyptian ladies too.

Post-Dinner stroll...

Somehow when one is on holiday, the hours are never enough. Thus even after a long, hard day of travelling, we still aren't satisfied and when Ageless saw that small little alley next to our Marhaba Hotel, he gamely suggested we walk in for a while. Bo bian lor... the Court's Beauty Doctor's order... so Pharaoh Acpical, SereneXMM and I gave it a go.... and discover much interesting opportunities and subjects of interest.
Too bad the Pharaoh himself never bring his camera...
SereneXMM's record shot.

Another one of SereneXMM's record shot... shot from the hip.
She scared that the man will hum-tum her. So discreetly she snapped.

Another one of SereneXMM's street shots.
This one was while we were walking back from McDonald's to our hotel. Again shot from the hip, thus explain why it is also slanted.

The poor Pharaoh's sandals...

SereneXMM and I thought we could finally sleep when our door bell went 'ding dong'.
Who else but the King himself appearing at our doorsteps.
His sandal has finally opened its jaw after a whole day of abuse at the sands of Abu Simbel.

"You Highness, how can I help you?"
"Give me a long piece of your Gaffer tape. I am going to tape up this Sandal of mine. It has taken me through Jiuzhaigou, to Myanmar, and if my Royal Memory didn't fail me, to the high lands of the Everest Treks and the plateau of Nepal. I will continue to treasure it like it is my life."
Ok, your Highness. Your Request is my command.

So finally we all slept.

Got an important message on the back of the statue. "To whom in the future who reads this script, remember to always buy what sun clock your queen demands. Rolex also can. Jaeger LeCoultre also can."

Thank you, asthio88, on behalf of all my teammates.
No, it's not me only. It's all my teammates who put in their stories, their share of the information of Egypt, their photos, and their experiences that makes this and all our travel threads that more interesting! It's every one's combined effort. Truly.

ROFL :bsmilie::bsmilie:

Vngks, LowLights... You guys actually believe her?
You all better go and read carefully what that hieroglyphics say lah... LOLOLOL...!

Is it? I better fly back Egypt tomorrow and have a good look at it for myself.
Cannot believe everything that you all say. You all have a conspiracy going on... Hahaha...

Insha'Allah, bro Lowlights!!! :thumbsup::bsmilie::heart::lovegrin::vhappy:

That must be why when they carve things like that, the empire declined soon after.

Is it? I better fly back Egypt tomorrow and have a good look at it for myself.

LOL. Ok this was the shot i was composing :)

Do you know that if we had enough time and we walk up the slope, we will be able to take Abu Simbel from an unique angle? Unique as pertaining to our group - of course there would be others before and after us.

Not straight shot, tilt up etc.

Yah lor. Acpical he was saying to me if he has time he would have climbed all the way up to that small rectangular window and enter the temple from behind very much like the way he and Adrian penetrated the Red Pyramid two days before. He is such a greedy pharaoh. Every time he sees an opening, he just wants to get in. Next time I will just leave him to the Mummies to handle. LOL...!

Yah. Kopi kao kao peng (ice kopi)! Come come... :bsmilie::lovegrin::cheergal:.

It was very very hot and tiring to walk up the slope at the back side of the King. We saw this.
6132607085_4266131987_z.jpg

Maybe this track leads to a small rectangular opening at the back of the temple here...

Can see the small opening on the upper right hand corner of the picture.
